अंग्रेजी भाषाको एउटा प्रतिष्ठित साप्ताहिक ‘नेपाली टाइम्स’ ले आजको अङ्कको ‘नेपाली सोसाइटी’ स्तम्भमा म र मेरो संसारको बारेमा लेखेको छ। ‘Umesh’s Blogosphere’ शीर्षकमा लेखिएको त्यो लेख नेपाली टाइम्सको साइटमा गएर हेर्न सकिन्छ।
तर पूरै लेख पढ्न भने तपाईँले त्यहाँ दर्ता गरेर युजर नेम र पासवर्ड लिनुपर्ने हुन्छ। अरुका बारेमा मैले धेरै लेखे पनि मेरो बारेमा भने अरुले लेखेको यो पहिलो पल्ट हो। त्यसो त एउटा जर्मन पत्रिका र बेलायती पत्रिकाले पनि मेरो बारेमा लेखिसकेको छ पहिले तर नेपाली सञ्चारमाध्यममा पूरै ब्लगिङको क्षेत्रलाई नभई मलाई मात्र समेटिएको भने यो पहिलो हो।
यसका लागि अस्ति सोमबार त्यसका रिपोर्टर मल्लिका अर्यालले मलाई फोनबाट केही कुरा सोधेकी थिइन् र मैले सरर जवाफ दिएको थिएँ।
आफूले लेख्नु र अरुले लेख्नुमा अलि फरक भने हुने रहेछ। बुझ्नेले गलत बुझिदिँदा अरु थोकै लेखिँदोरहेछ। त्यसमा लेखिए अनुसार मलाई एकचोटी सुरक्षा फौजले पिटेको भने हैन, मण्डलेहरुले पिटेका हुन्।
धम्कीका कुरा पनि त्यहाँ लेखिएका छन्। साँच्चै आजभोलि त्यस्तो ज्यान मार्ने धम्की आउँदा त हाँसो पो उठ्छ त। अघि भर्खर पनि एउटा त्यस्तै कमेन्ट आएको थियो। मैले त्यसलाई एप्रुभ गरेको थिएँ। त्यो कमेन्ट तलको कतै पोस्टमा हुनसक्छ।
मेरो संसारका ३५ प्रतिशत भिजिटर अमेरिकाबाट छन् र बाँकी अन्य भने फलाना फलाना देशबाट छन् भनेर त्यसमा जुन लेखिएको छ- त्यो भने टप टेन लिस्टमात्रै हो। १५० भन्दा बढी देशबाट यो साइटलाई हेरिएको छ।
२५ अप्रिलको दिन यो साइटमा सबैभन्दा बढी भिजिटर आएका थिए। युनिक भिजिटरमात्रै ३७ हजार थिए। पेज इम्प्रेसन त लाखौंको संख्यामा नै थियो। त्यो कुरा मैले भनेको थिएँ तर छापिँदा भने अलि फरक ढंगले छापिएछ।
बाँकीका कुरा भने अति नै राम्रो ढंगले उहाँले लेखिदिनुभएको छ। मलाई लाग्छ- आज मैले यो ब्लगबाट एउटा बेग्लै पहिचान बनाएको छु। म त्यही च्यानल नेपालको जागिरमा झुण्डिरहेको भए यो पहिचान कदापि पाउने थिएन। उमेश श्रेष्ठ भन्ने मान्छे पनि छ भनेर कसैलाई थाहा पनि हुने थिएन। आज यही ब्लगका कारण देशविदेशमा मैले थुप्रै साथीहरु बनाएको छु, बनाउने क्रममा छु।
त्यसो त मेहनत पनि निकै गर्नुपर्छ यसमा। अरु कुनै काम नभएकोले मैले पूरा समय नै यसैमा खर्च गरेको छु। कति रात त नसुती छर्लङ बिताएको छु यही ब्लगका कारण। कुनै फिल्म हेर्दा हामी त्यो फिल्म बनाउन पर्दापछाडि कति मेहनत परेको हुन्छ भन्ने सोच्दैनौं। त्यस्तै हो ब्लगमा पनि। ब्लग लेख्नका लागि जानकारीहरु जुटाउन, अडियो ब्लगका लागि अडियो रेकर्ड गर्ने, एडिट गर्ने अनि इन्टरनेटमा अपलोड गर्ने, भिडियो ब्लगका लागि भिडियो खिच्ने, त्यसलाई कम्प्युटरमा डाउनलोड गर्ने, एडिट गर्ने, इन्टरनेटमा राख्नका लागि कम्प्रेस गर्ने अनि स्लो इन्टरनेट कनेक्सनमा अपलोड गर्ने काम कम्ती झण्झटपूर्ण र समय खाने हुँदैन। अनि यी सबै काम एक्लै गर्नुपर्यो भने झन्…!
इन्टरनेट र फोनको खर्च जुटाउन पनि धौ-धौ पर्छ कति पटक त। यद्यपि कति साथीहरुले विदेशबाट सहयोग गरिदिएका छन् विगतका दिनहरुमा- अनि मलाई खर्चको भार हलुका हुन्छ। तर यस्तो सहयोग नियमित भने हुन्न। अनि जब अरु खर्चको त कुरै छाडौं- इन्टरनेट र फोनको खर्च तिर्न पुग्ने सहयोग पनि जम्मा हुँदैन- तब भने दिक्क लाग्छ। केको समाज सेवा गर्ने, बरु आनन्दले १०-५ जागिर खाएर बस्नुपर्छ जस्तो मनमा लाग्छ। तर आफ्नो हिसाबले स्वतन्त्र रुपमा काम गर्नु र अर्काको काम गर्नुमा फरक त हुन्छ नै। भविष्यले कता डोर्याउँछ- केही थाहा छैन। त्यसो भए पनि यही ब्लगलाई निरन्तर गर्नका लागि नै भए पनि एउटा नियमित आय हुने ठाउँ भने खोज्नु पर्ने नै जस्तो लागिरहेको छ मलाई।
विज्ञापन पनि खासै पाइन्न। केही साथीहरुको साइट फोकटमा लिङ्क गर्नुबाहेक पैसा नै तिरेर विज्ञापन गर्ने त एक जना पनि आएको छैन। गुगलको विज्ञापनले आएको पैसाले सर्भरको पैसामात्र तिर्न पुगे हुन्थ्यो जस्तो लाग्छ। त्यही पनि अहिलेसम्म आएको छैन।
अहो, व्यक्तिगत कुरा त अलि बढी नै भएछ। अहिले भर्खर पाएका केही समाचार लेखेर यो पोस्टको बिट मारौं है त-
मुख्य वार्ता चाहिँ प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजा र माअोवादी अध्यक्ष प्रचण्डबीच हुन्छ भनेर हिजो भर्खर रिहा भएका माअोवादी नेता मातृका यादवले भनेछन्। यो चाहिँ 2722 नम्बरको मोबाइलबाट आएको ब्रेकिङ न्युज हो। पहिलो पटक मैले यो सेवाको प्रयोग गरेर हेरेको हुँ।
कस्तो खालको वार्ता हो कुन्नि ? आमने-सामने हो कि टेलिफोन ?
सभामुख सुभाष नै : हिजो सभामुखको कुरा नमिलेपछि आज सात दलको बैठक बस्ने भनिएकोमा काँग्रेस र एमालेबाहेक अरु दलहरु नै आएनछन्। अनि सात दलको बैठक दुई दलमा सीमित भएछ। उनीहरुले सभामुखका लागि निर्वाचन नै गर्ने निर्णय गरेछन्। भन्नाले संसदमा बढी सिट भएका काँग्रेस र एमालेबीच सहमति भएपछि चुनावै भए पनि एमालेका सुभाष नेम्वाङ नै निर्वाचित हुने त निश्चित नै छ। प्रजातान्त्रिकले आफ्ना सांसद चित्रलेखा यादवलाई उठाउने कि नउठाउने हो, त्यो भने हेर्न बाँकी छ।
प्रजिअ मुक्त जनआन्दोलन उत्कर्षमा पुगिरहेका बेला माअोवादीले सर्लाहीमा आक्रमण गरेपछि अपहरण गरी लगेका त्यहाँका सीडीअो बोधराज अधिकारीलाई ३६ दिनपछि हिजो मुक्त गरिएछ। हिजै सरकारले पनि दुई माअोवादी केन्द्रीय नेताहरुलाई रिहा गरेको थियो।
क्या भव्य भोजः तपाईँले आजको कान्तिपुरमा केदार अोझाले लेख्नुभएको मुख्य समाचार पढ्नु भयो ? प्रधानसेनापतिकी छोरीको बिहे त राजपरिवारको जस्तो पो हुने रहेछ ! क्या टन्नै धनसम्पत्ति होला हगि उनको ? कसरी कमाए होलान् ? नेताहरुका बारेमा भ्रष्टाचारका कुरा उठ्छन् – तर यस्ता सुरक्षाप्रमुखको सम्पत्तिको छानबिन किन हुँदैन होला हगि ? साथी दीपक अर्यालले अस्ति नै एउटा ब्लगमा लेख्नुभए जस्तो- कसैले रिसर्च गरे हुन्थ्यो- नेताहरुले कति खाएका थिए र शाह, राणा र थापाहरुले कति खाएका छन्।

Well,
It is nice to listen to everybody’s comment, but it is also irritating to see favoritism. I don’t know Pradeep Nepal(ex-UML leader) in person, but I really do agree with one of his comment. He said that UML didn’t called their movement as “MadanPath” like maoist termed themselves “PrachandaPath”. The commentators of this site are also trying to make it “UmeshPath”. The only reason all those people visited this site was because they wanted to get some fresh news and Umesh did an outstanding job to update it every other minute. All this doesnot mean that we will keep praising his work in the reminder of this blog without talking about the point why we all visited this site, for super-fresh information. BBC provides one of the best updates around the world but we never heard the songs of reporter’s Praise.
I can gurantee, other bloggers also can achive the same number of viewers as Umesh did otherwise more if they had a place to share what they know. We all know Umesh did a great job but I hate all this rubbish: Nepotism ruined our country for all these years, let’s not start another chapter of Favoritism.

I really appreciate your job that you have been doing for last couple of weeks. I also leanred that there have been lot of media coverage on you and your website. It is obvious that someone who is doing a great job for society and a country as a whole will be covered and appreciated. I however urge you not to mention about your appreciation that has been published or written in other web or news papers. Readers are very smart and will find such info anyway and will of course get back to you. Self imposition and appreciation does not seem good.

It is very nice to know that you getting some recognition and becoming a public figure. I like your writing style in a simple and commonly spoken language. You were simply outstanding in posting breaking news on Nepal during the recent mass protests and meeting our apetite for news from our motherland.
I agree with you on the corruptions by the security chiefs in Nepal with an example of grand feast in Pyar Jung’s daughter’s marriage. In Nepal we all have witnessed such corruptions by public figures in one way or the other. I find a serious problem in our society in this regard because no one dare to ask if someone becomes rich overnight. Rather you get discouraging response from the society if you can not make big money and they don’t care how you do it. I hope things will change after this LOKTANTRIK JANA ANDOLAN. Well, it would be pathetic if we cover up or ignore the corruption from the leaders while focusing on the security chiefs. Regardless of differences in the level of corruption they should be accountable to their wrong doings. They should all be accountable to the poor Nepalese in the remote and rural areas who do not have enough to cover their body and do not have enough to eat.
I like the idea from NEPAL KO CHHORA above for contributing to your efforts in maintaining this blogsite. I have sent you once and I will do it again in future. And I hope everybody else will feel their civic responsibilities and make whatever contributions they can make.

good job but you need to improve you language. for example: ‘vijilante’. The way you write in nepali is not correct however in english its ok. professionals and public figures cannot make mistakes.

I do not have any other words to thank you for your good work. You did not ask yourself to rest during the movement, you kept your news updated at all times. Umesh, your hard work has taught me a very good lesson which might be fruitful in my life.
We are about 30 ex-British Military Nepalese have been working in US embassy, British embassy, Gold mines as well as with UN projects as security consultant. We will work out something that so we can contribute the country by any means. I am very pleased that someone got time to write about u.The number u have given about how many see your web site is just the part of floatting ice. There r many more people in aboard regularly read all the content of your pages. I usually check twice a day and here in UK almost all my friends read it. But only a few of them write comments. I also came to know about your blog from that Newspaper.
It’s really good effort that you have been putting over here but I saw a lots of mistakes – instead of sanyukta words they came with halant, and the very first line you can see mistake in the word vichar etc. over here that makes uninteresting to read the posts. I don’t know it’s due to the unicode or something else or do I need to install the font. But as far I know in XP we don’t have to install any unicode fonts as XP accepts them.
Otherwise your really have an impressive work and have done a remarkable job by maintaining a blog in Nepali.

मैले बिहान नेपाली टाइम्स पढेपछि तपाइलाई बधाई सन्देश पठाउनु पर्ला भनेर सोचेको थिए । तर ब्लगमा तपाइको कामको बारेमा त्यो भन्दा धेरै जानकारी पाइयो । तपाइलाई धन्यवाद र बधाई दुबै दिन चाहन्छु !!! तपाईको काम सराहनीय छ, र म तपाईको उत्तरोत्तर प्रगतिको कामना पनि गर्न चाहन्छु ।
यसै मौकामा तपाईको साइटका बारेमा एक, दुइ टिप्पणी/सुझाव/जिग्यासा लेखौ है !
१. मेरो सन्सारमा ब्लग लेख्ने कतिपय ब्लगरहरुले कुनै विषयमा आफ्नो विचार भन्दा पनि तपाईको प्रसम्सा वा धन्यवादका सन्देश मात्र लेखेको देख्छु । यसलाई निरुत्साहित गर्नुपर्छ जस्तो लाग्छ ।
२. फोटोलाई कपी गर्न बन्देज लगाउनुको सट्टा कपिराइट फोटोमा नै उल्लेख गरेर कपि गर्न दिँने की ? त्यसो गर्दा फोटोग्राफरको पनि हित हुन सक्छ जस्तो लाग्छ ।
