जेठ ४ गतेको प्रतिनिधि सभाको ऐतिहासिक घोषणाले रद्दी टोकरीमा फ्याँकिसकेको एउटा परिवारको गुणगान गाउने तथाकथित ‘राष्ट्रगान’ लाई नेपालको सरकारी टेलिभिजन एनटिभी र रेडियो नेपालले अनि निजी टेलिभिजनहरुले पनि हटाइसकेको भए पनि अमेरिकाको सगरमाथा टेलिभिजनले भने ‘गौरव’ का साथ प्रसारण गरिरहेको रहेछ। सगरमाथा टेलिभिजनको वेबसाइटमा गएर मे २१ तारिखको कार्यक्रम हेर्दा सुरुमा नै राष्ट्रिय गान बजाइएको रहेछ। नेपालमा समेत बज्न छाडेको ‘क्युरियो’ राष्ट्रगानलाई अमेरिकाको टेलिभिजनले संरक्षण गरेको देख्दा बधाई दिन मन लाग्यो। नेपाली धर्म, संस्कृतिको संरक्षण गर्दागर्दै नेपालले नै त्यागिसकेको राष्ट्रगानलाई समेत संररक्षण गर्नुभएछ ! त्यसो त अब यस्तो ‘दुर्लभ’ कुरा नेपालमा हेर्न पाइँदैन। त्यसैले तपाईँहरुलाई पनि हेर्न मन लाग्छ भने यहाँ क्लिक गरेर सगरमाथा टेलिभिजनको कार्यक्रम हेर्न सकिन्छ। यो कार्यक्रम हेर्न तपाईँको कम्प्युटरमा रियल प्लेयर इन्सटल भएको हुनुपर्छ।
राजाको शासनताका एकचोटी हाम्रै नेपाल टेलिभिजनमा यही सगरमाथा टेलिभिजनको सौजन्यमा भन्दै राजाले निर्वाचित सरकारलाई बर्खास्त गरेर सत्ता हातमा लिएको घटनाको स्वागत गर्दै प्रदर्शन गरिरहेकाहरुको दृश्य देखाइएको थियो।
त्यतिबेला नै मलाई लागेको थियो- आम्मै, अमेरिकामा पनि रहेछन् नि राजावादीहरु ! अहिले यो हेर्दा त लाग्यो- अमेरिकामा नेपालमा भन्दा पनि बढी इमान्दार राजावादीहरु रहेछन् कि क्या हो ?

Did you read the above dirty personal attack post, posted by so called Arun Parajuly, Kathmandu? You can guess how froud and nosy Parajuly is, because he wrote Gokul, Nabin and Arun, Fairfax and post with Arun Parajuly, Kathmandu. Parajuly, writes every thing this& that about Kharel and says I don’t know in every statement. I know Ram Kharel very well and I’m very familier with Sagarmatha Television and his community service, which I admire. He has done so much for Nepali community such as NPPA, NOA, INHRA,ANA, ANS, INLS and others organizations, which no Nepali has done in this area. I disagree with his some comments on his television, but all of us has good thing and bad things. I always watch Sagarmatha Television, he showed Kings supporter’s rally, ati-King rally in DC and ati-gove rally from New York too, yes he made some comment favorable to King by then. I think he likes King, because all of us has different opinion. About the Rastria Gaan, Shreeman Gambir.. I called and ask him why that was still there, he said that “dai our television program goes to station every Thursday for the following week, and that historic Proclamation came sameday, I called Nepal to find out wherer I should run or not, one of my friend told me that untill Thursday NTV and Radio Nepal was still playing, therefore I did include, after we handover the program we cannot make changes” he said.
Another thing, Ram Kharel has the right to hold any countries passport, he has the right to bring all his friends and family to USA. I think that is none of our business. Yes ‘I heard one of his married relative got the miss metropplitan, but the question is, was Ram Kharel the organizer or judge at that event? Why don’t you ask organizer (ANWA) regarding this issue?
Dudd, be creative, be encourager. Do something if you can, if you cannot then just mind your own business. You know there is a saying “Banderle afno ghar pani banaundaina, arkako pani bhatkai dinchha”. Don’t be bander. I hope Ram Kharel will not read your nosy, dirty personnal attack and bother with it.

Hey guys,
You should be wondering about the following national level statement.
Not like how someone came to America? Who holds what kind of passport? Is TV program, program or television? What kind silly quistions are these?
The answer is simple, someone don’t like to called long name they prefer short. How someone came to America? Just like you came. I think you are beiging for greencard, he hold American passport, what’s wrong with that? There are so many NRN/NRNA people holding various countries/American passport not only Ram Kharel or Ram Chandra Kharel. You may be thinking to get one also am I right? Or are you illigal?
My principle is, try to do better than him or her then only comment or criticize them, if I don’t have huti like those people, I will not show my hutihara mati.
Well, lets get in to the subject!!
Shameful Pride

Girija Koirala declared in the Nepali parliament that we Nepalese are
no longer subjects but citizens of a free nation. Just outside the
parliament a group of people giddy with joy on hearing that the no
longer need to accept the king as their god, supreme leader of the
nation praised the “courage” of our leaders. Whole nation is
celebrating this event, I guess, except me.
I am not the one secretly worshipping the king wearing a cover of a
republican; I am not the self declared patriot killing my compatriots
to achieve power. Still it is hard for me to be happy that finally I
am free, my people are free. I don’t see the freedom, I don’t see the
joy. The King has now been reduced to a real figure head, the
parliament has all the powers, and we as citizens control the
parliament. Now Nepali people will decide the fate of the nation. Is
this for real?
I don’t think so. We have been cheated again. Mr. Koirala declared
that we are free, but the freedom is now captive of the Maoists.
Matrika Koirala, senior Maoists leader has demanded that they should
be allowed to lead the Government. I have not heard any one from the
government say anything against this, I have not heard anyone raise
questions about the Maoists openly declaring that they will now lead
Nepal to a Communist Republic, raising question about the illegal
activities of the Maoists, human rights abuses seems like an
impossible dream.
Our freedom, our destiny has now been handed to the Maoists, and we
are celebrating it. The whole nation seems to be under a spell of
deceit, lies and fake promises. Still we are happy, we are proud.
There is no shame for accepting terrorists as leaders, instead there
is pride, there is no shame of killing innocent people, there is pride
for being revolutionary.
Anyway, all the best for those who are celebrating. I hope I will be
proved wrong.

खरेलजिको काइते कुरा र असलि कुरा
राम चन्द्र खरेल काइते कुरा गर्छन भन्ने कुरा उनै सन्चालक रहेको भनिएको टिभी कार्यक्रम हेरे पुग्छ। खरेल पटक्-पटक आफुलाई राम चन्द्र खरेल भनेर कराइ रहेका हुन्छन भने उन्का अरोउटे-परोउटे भने राम खरेल मात्र भन्दै हुन्छन । यि आफ्फ्नै अरोउटे-परोउटेले पनि नचिनेका कस्ता चन्द्र हुन ?
हामीलाई यि किन कहिले कसरी के को लागि अमेरिका आए थाहा छैन तर यि बडो ठुलो राष्ट्रवादी कुरा गर्छन । नेपालमा शान्ति,मेलमिलापको राग यि अति नै अलाप्छ्न । राष्ट्रियता दरो होस् भनेर रातोदिन रोइ-कराइकन हिंडेका हुन्छन । तर यि रहेछ्न आफु अमेरिकि नगरिक ।
आफु भने नेपाली राष्ट्रियतको पाठ अरुलाई पढाउने यि पनि तेस्ता प्रेरणा रहेछन, यहाँ जो अर्का एक जना प्रेरणा पनि छन । तर यिनी गोबिन्द गिरी प्रेर्णा नै त होईन तर पनि केही कामका कुरा भने मिल्छ भन्छन उनका साथी सहयोगी र शुभचिन्ताकाहरु ।
पहिलो कुरा,अमेरिकाबाट सन्चालित सगरमाथा टेलिभिजन हो कि सगरमाथा कार्यक्रम हो ? टेलिभिजन र टेलिभिजन कार्यक्रममा केही भिन्नता हुँदैन भने त ठिकै हो तर हुन्छ भने त सगरमाथा टेलिभिजन नभएर कार्यक्रम पो हो कि ? राम करेलजि को कुरा के हो ? टेलिभिजनमा काम गर्ने र बुझ्ने मानिस् अरु छैन कि ?
हुनत हामीलाई यि कसरी अमेरिका आए र किन कहिले आए भन्ने कुरमा कुनै सरोकर त छैन तर के हो भने यो टिभी कार्यकर्म उनको पौरखलेले मात्र आर्जेको होईन कि ? जसरि भोली मौका पायो भने पारस शाहले पनि भन्ला कि यो मुलुक मेरा पुर्खाले दुख-जिलो गरी आर्जेका हुन !
पारस शाह भनेको को हो भने अहिलेको नेपालको तथाकथित राजा जस्लाई नेपाली जनताले अन्त्तररास्टिय फौजदारी अदालतको कठघरमा मानवता बिरोधि अपराधको अभियोगमा उभ्याउने तयारी गरी रहेक छन । त्यो जनाहत्य्रारो तथाकथित राजाको नाम हो ज्ञान बहादुर शाह । उस्लाइ आफ्नै दाजुको सपरिवारको हत्या को आरोप पनि छ ।
यो यिन्ले (राम चन्द्र खरेल) भने जस्तो नेपाललाई भारतको एउटा पार्ट मात्र होईन भन्ने उन्को ब्यक्तिगत इखले मात्र सुरु गरेको हो त ? यस्मा अरु नेपाली कसैको कुनै योगदान छैन ? यिन्ले भने जस्तै यो उन्को निजी सम्पत्ति नै हो भने किन बेला-बेला यि नेपालि समुदायलाई यो समुदायाको सेवाका लागि सयमुदायकै सहयोगमा सन्चालित हुनाले थप सहयोगको लागि आह्वान गरि रहेका हुन्छन् । किन सामुदायिक सेवा भएको कुरा गरी हिड छ्न ? खरेलजिको सेवा समुदाँयालाई के कस्तो छ तो त हामीलाई थाहा छैन नै तेस्ताइ गरी यिन्ले कस्को किन सेवा गरेका रहेछन भन्न कुरा त मेरो संसारको कमेन्ट म पनि छ । खरेलको दा बि रहेछ-
उन्को बल्ले आर्जेको टिवीले कुनै नेपाली पार्टी र पक्षमा होईन जोसुकै सतामा आउछ उसैको सेवा गर्ने उनको उदेस्य्य रहेको कुरा उनैले लेखेका रहेछन ।
तेसैले हिजो दर्बारका रथि-उपरथी को साईनोमा सरकारी कुरा परचार गरेर स्व्तन्त्र भएको मन्डले-माद्ले नवएको बताए भने अब काङ्रेस् – कम्निस्ट भएको कुरा गर्नु कुन ठुलो कुरा भो ?
हामीलाई यिन्का ससुरली चितवनतिरका कङ्रेस् हुन कि मावली झापातिरका कम्निस्ट हुन थाहा छैन ?
यिन्ले जेठि सासुलाई कस्ररी अमेरिका ल्याए अनि कसरी १ बर्स पछी जेठिससुकी बहिनीलाई बिहे गरे तो पनि थाहा छैन । यिन्ले आफ्नो बिहेमा जन्ती कस्ल्लाइ ल्याए अनि अहिले ति को को कहाँ के के गर्दै छन भन्ने पनि थाहा छैन।
खरेल जि को सेवा समुदाँयालाई के कस्तो छ तो त हामीलाई थाहा छैन नै तेस्ताइ गरी यिन्ले कस्को किन सेवा गरेका रहेछन भन्न कुरा त मेरो संसारको कमेन्ट म पनि छ । खरेलको दाबि रहेछ
उन्को बल्ले आर्जेको टिवी ले कुनै नेपाली पार्टी र पक्ष मा होईन जोसुकै सतामा आउछ उसैको सेवा गर्ने उनको उदेस्य्य रहेको कुरा उनैले लेखेका रहेछन ।
टिभी चलाऊन भनेर साला साली के कति अमेरिका भित्र्याए अनि बिहे गरेकी सालीलाई मिस्स् डिसिमा भाग लिन लएर कसरी पहिलो बनाए तो पनि थाहा छैन ।
यिन्का पौरर्खका यि कुरा अरुलाई थाहा कश् री हुन्छ र तर थाहा भएको कुरा हो कि कुनै पनि स्व्तन्त्र संचार संस्था भनेको जो सतामा आउछ तेसैको सेवा गर्नु आफ्नो उदेस्य हो भनेर गर्व गर्दैन्न ।
यो त दुर्गानाथ,तपनाथ,ॠषि धमला वा सबैका लागि प्रेरणा बनेका गोभिन्द गिरीलाई पनि मात गर्ने यो कुरका लागि त खरेल्जी निकाई इमान्दर छन नि होउ ।
यिन्लाई पनि डिसी तिर नेपालका पत्रकारलाई सहयोग गर्ने खै के सस्न्थाले सम्मान गर्नु पर्ने होईन र ? कहिले यि सेना कि छोरी को साईनो लिएर दरबार छिर्छ्न त कहिले दरबारका सचिब कि दिदी बहिनी जो कम्निस्त्को साईनो लाउन पनि सजिलो हुने गरी श्रीमान गम्वीर—-पनी गैरहन्छन । यि धेरै माहिर
टिवी सन्चलक पनि हुन तेसैले यिन्लाइ पुरस्कार किन नदिने ।

“Ever cried for your country?”? Nepalese complain about the caste system and corrupt officers. They Openly vent their anger against the government. But have they ever thought About Nepal’s real problems? I believe that they have not. I want to say that
Nepal’s real problems are lack of patriotism among the people and lack Of love for one another. This is the conclusion I have reached during my stay. This summer, I did voluntary work from July 5 to July 30 at FHI Ever Vision School, Matatirtha, Kathmandu. Let me first tell you about my country, Korea. This might help you understand my point.
Just after the Korean War, which claimed lives of more than 5 million Koreans, Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. Without natural resources, Korea had no choice but to desperately struggle for its survival by all means. Under this gloomy situation, Koreans envied other Asian countries like Japan, Taiwan, and Nepal.
Korean government officials were horribly corrupt. With the dual classes of Yangban (nobles) and Sangnom(peasants), Korean society was sickening day by day. However, Koreans, having determination to become rich, overcame the unfair social structure and put the country onto the track of development.
When the former president Park Jung Hee took over the government, there were few factories in Korea. Korea could not attract loans or expect foreign investments. Under these circumstances, President Park ‘exported’ miners and nurses to then West Germany. The salaries that they earned were used to building factories and promoting industrialization of Korea.
In 1964, when President Park visited then West Germany, the miners and nurses asked the president when the Koreans would become rich. The president replied, crying with the miners and nurses, that someday the Koreans would become rich.
Many of Korean scientists and engineers, who could just enjoy comfortable lives in the United States, returned to Korea with only one thing in their mind: the determination to make Korea the most powerful and prosperous country in the world.? They did their best even though their salaries were much less than what they would have received in other
countries. The Koreans believed that they have the ability to change their desperate situation and that they must make the country better, not only for themselves but also for
the future generations yet to come?
My parents’ generation sacrificed themselves for their families and the country. They worked 14 hours a day, and risked their lives working under inhumane conditions.
The mothers, who went to work in factories, fed their babies while operating machines in dangerous environments. They always tried to teach their children the true value of
‘hard work’.
Finally, all of these hard works and sacrifices
made the prosperous Korea that you see now.
Nepalis, have you ever cried for your country? I heard that many of Nepali youth do not love their Nepal. I also heard that they want to leave Nepal because they don’t
like caste system, or because they want to escape the severe poverty.
However, they should be the first ones to voluntarily work for Nepal’s development, not the first ones to complain and speak against their country.?
I have a dream that someday I would be able to free the souls from suffering from the underdeveloped countries, anachronistic customs and the desperate hunger. My belief has become stronger than ever after seeing the reality in Nepal.? A child with a fatal disease who doesn’t have enough money to buy a pill; a child living in what seems like a pre-historic dwelling and not having the opportunity to receive education; and a student who cannot succeed, no matter how hard he studies, just because of the class he comes from.
A society, in which wives not only take care of children but also work in the fields, while their husbands waste their time doing nothing; a society in which a five-year-old must labor in a brick factory to feed herself.? Looking at the reality of Nepal, I was despaired, yet this sense of despair strengthened my belief.
I already know that many of the Nepalis are devout Hindus. However, nothing happens if you just pray to hundreds of thousands of gods while doing nothing. It is the action that you and Nepal need for the better future.? For Nepal and yourselves, you have to show your love to your neighbors and country just as you do to Gods. You know that your Gods will be pleased when you work for the development of your country and improvement of your lives. Therefore, please, love your neighbors and country.
Teach your children to love their country. And love the working itself. Who do you think will cry for your Nepal? Who do you think will be able to respect the spirit of Himalayas
and to keep the lonely flag representing it ? You are the ones responsible for leading this beautiful country to a much brighter future. This responsibility lies on you.

के यिनै कृस्चियान हरु होईनन जस्ले भरत मा शाशन गर्दा भरटेलि लाइ, अफृका मा कैयौ लाइ पिजरा मा राखेर कोररा बर्ह्साउदै युरोप को बजारमा बेच बिखान गरेको ? के यिनै कृस्चियान हैनन जस्ले करोडौ को सन्ख्या मा अमेरिका का आदी बासी हरु लाइ गाउ का गाउ मारेर उनिहरु को आइ माइ र बच्चा हरु लाइ जबर जस्ती बाइबल घोकाएको ? यो “बराबर हुन्छ्, पक्षपात” हुँदैन्, जात पात छैन्, भन्ने कृस्चियान हरु को “समान बेच्ने ब्यापारी नारा” सोझा साझा हरु लाइ ठग्ने तरिका हो। तपाईं अहिले अमेरिका युरोप जानु भयो भने थाहा पाउनु हुन्छ नेपाली हरु को हालत कस्तो छ । धनी मान्छे लाइ तपाईं ले
“टिभी” मा बाहेक अन्त कही देख्न समेत पाउनु हुन्न्, नेपाल मा कम्से कम धनी मान्छे तरकारी बजार मा त भेट हुन्छ्!
त्यस् माथि जात-पात भन्ने नेपाल मा पूर्ण रुप ले गै पनि सक्यो

I sincerely would like to thank all the Sagarmatha Television’s fan for supporting us, because of your love and support Sagarmatha Television is completing its 9th year and entering in 10th year from July 1, 2006 by extending it broadcast time from half hour to one hour, twice a week through out the USA. I really admire your support.
I also would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my criticizer, because of your criticism Sagarmatha Television getting better and popular. I always take criticism seriously and implement it properly. You are the great inspiration for me to take Sagarmatha Television to the next level and thank you for that.
One of the Sagarmatha Television’s fans emailed me about this comments and I went through. I was not disappointed at all, because Sagarmatha Television has done at least something better for my Nepali community and for my motherland.
In 1996, when I was introduced at a party by an Indian friend saying Ram Kharel, is from Nepal and Nepal is just like part of India. Because of that I wanted show that Nepal is not part of India, therefore; I have started this Sagarmatha Television just to show the world that Nepal is not part of India. When I started Sagarmatha Television in 1997, the Shriman Gambir Nepali.. was the national anthem of Nepal and still is.
Some of the friends are criticizing me like I’m the one who wrote this song, but I believe this was written by Chakra Pani Chalise and sang every where. I was informed that in Nepal ‘Nepal television and Radio Nepal’ still plays this song in the morning and in the evening, therefore; Sagarmatha Television is playing. As soon as the government of Nepal changed it, we will change in our program too.
I have started Sagarmatha Television, when King Birendra was in power and serves nine or ten different governments. This television never favors to any political groups or parties, we always promoted Nepal, Nepali cultural and Nepali government whoever comes to the power. Our goal is not for the promotion of any group, but to promote Nepal, Nepali culture and serve Nepali community.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for taking your valuable time to supporting us, criticizing us, because it definitely help me to achieve Sagarmatha Television’s goal and serve my motherland from far-away from home. Thanks for bringing up such a pertinent point here. The fellow who supposedly runs the Sagarmatha TV in Washington DC can appropriately be labelled as “mandale”. He has been singing the praise of Gyanendra and his regime –more so after Gyane took the sovereignty in his hands.
We know that he had taken money from Nepal last time he was in Nepal, and also from the Nepal Embassy to become the propoganda instrument of the king’s autocratic regime.
It is only a matter of time before we know how much money he has taken it in his last visit. Once we find it out, we will not only publicise it, we will also inform the income tax department of America. I am sure this fella named Ram Kharel must be thinking that he is out of reach of Rayamajhi Commission. He is not. He is the one who called all those demonstrators against the king’s regime as terrorists and communists.
So, Sagarmatha TV has no credibility. He wastes his airtime mostly. But the Radio Dobhan has the credibility for being on the side of the people.
When will this fella Ram Kharel live in the real world? I am not surprised that he is still on Sriman Gambhir…
He also harps the words of Janani Janmabhumishcha…
My question to him, will he tell his children, when they are born in the US, still the same thing (Janani janmabhuscha…). In that case, it should mean the US for those newborns or US borns, not Nepal.

I like the way the stupid “SRIMAAN GAMBHIR NEPAALI” has been removed. I am sure a democratic song will be replaced now.
The only thing that I do not like is that our HINDU DHARMA, that includes all jana jaati, and has integrated Buddha Dharm with so much reverance to Buddha has been VICTIMIZED. This does not benefit to jana jaati cultures such as Rai, Limbu, Gurung, sataar, baatar, jhaagad and aal other practices.

I read your news about Sagarmath channel in USA. You are wrong to write that our national anthem has changed. It is true that a suitable national anthem will replace the present one, but it does not mean that we are a country without a national anthem at present. I or we fully agree that present national anthem is not appropriate, but untill it is replaced, we have to contunue present one in order to keep our dignity and honour.
