यो चिठ्ठी तपाईहरु (परिवार) को हातमा पुग्दा हामी बाँचेका हुन्छौं वा मरेका हुन्छौं थाहा छैन। हामीले खाना नपाएका २४ भन्दा बढी दिन जेलको छिंढीमा विताइसक्यौं। हामी त मर्र्छौं वा बाँच्छौं थाहा छैन तर ओसिटी सेक्सन कार्यरत रहेका सम्पूर्ण नेपालीहरुलाई बचाउनु।’
इराकी जेलमा रहेका चार नेपालीले आफ्नै जीवन बचाउन नेपाली दाजुभाइलाई लेखिएको हृदयविदारक पत्रमा उल्लेखित विवरण एक अंश हो। ‘हाम्रो जिन्दगी त गयो तर, हामीजस्ता १५ भन्दा बढी नेपाली दाजुभाइहरुको ज्यान जोखिममा छ।’
इराकी प्रहरीको कडा यातना सहँदै चार जना नेपाली युवक त्यहाँको बास्रा जेलमा रहेको पुष्टि भएको छ। जेलमा मकवानपुर पदमपोखरी १ का सुमन लामा थोकर दमक नगरपालिका झापाका रामकुमार र्राई, पोखराका कृष्णबहादुर महत र दोलखा चरिकोटकार् इश्वर बस्नेत गत जेष्ठ १० गतेदेखि बास्रा जेलमा रहेको उनीहरुले जेलबाट पठाएको पत्रबाट पुष्टि भएको छ। पत्र हेर्न भित्र आउनु होला।
उनीहरुसंग जेलमा परेका एक जना पाकिस्तानीलाई काम गरिरहेको कम्पनीले छुट्टाएर बाहिर आउने क्रममा ती नेपालीहरुले पत्र लेखेका हुन्।
कुवेत स्थित के.जी.एल कम्पनीमा कार्यरत ति चार जना नेपालीलाई म्याद गुज्रिएको सामान इराक लान दबाब दिएको र सोही क्रममा इराक प्रवेश गर्न लाग्दा त्यहाँको प्रहरीले समातेको पत्रमा उल्लेख गरिएको छ।
एउटै कोठामा ५० जनालाई २४ दिनसम्म खान नदिइ राखिएकेा र अदालत पनि लगिएको छैन।
कुवेतको के.जी.एल. कम्पनीमा कार्यरत चार सय नेपाली कामदारले इराकी जेलमा रहेका चार जनाको बारेमा जानकारी माग्दै हडताल गरेको तर मालिकले सबैलाई मारिदिने धम्की दिने अबस्था अज्ञात नै छ।
मकवानपुर पदमपोखरी-१ का सुमन लामा थोकरकी श्रीमती कान्छीमाया लामाले श्रीमान जेलमा परेको पत्रमार्फ् थाहा पाएको भन्दै अन्य कुनै जानकारी पाउन नसकेको बताउनुभयो।
के.जी.एल. कम्पनीले त्यहाँ कार्यरत कामदारलाई इराक जान दबाब दिएपछि मकवानपुर हेटौंडाका सुरेश खत्री सहित ४० जना नेपाली नेपाल फर्किएका छन्।
एक वर्ष पहिला एक लाख पचास हजार तिरेर सुमन काठमाडौं स्थित नेपाल रिक्रुटि• र्सर्भिसे हाल -ओरेन्टियल मर्कन्टाइल प्रा.लि.) रामकुमार र्राई, द रिभर मेनपावर कम्पनी र्रर् इश्वर बस्नेत तथा कृष्णबहादुर महत थापा भयाना म्यानपावर कम्पनीबाट त्यता गएका थिए।
सुमन लामा थोकरलाई कुवेत पठाउने कम्पनीले हाल आफ्नो नाम परिवर्तन गरेर ओरेन्टियल मर्कन्टाइल प्रा.लि. राखेको पीडित परिवारले बताएका छन्।
आफूले कुवेत मानिस नपठाएको भन्दै खोजिकार्यमा वास्ता नगरेको पीडितका परिवारले बतँएका छन्। एक पटक मानिस पठाएर नाम परिवर्तन गरी आफ्नो व्यवसाय सञ्चालन गर्ने कम्पत्रि्रति पीडितहरु आक्रोषित भएका छन्।
उनीहरुको पत्रमा आफूहरु बाँच्ने र मर्ने टुंगो नभएको भन्दै इराक पठाउने कम्पनीहरु सकृय रहेको भन्दै होस गर्न सम्पूर्ण नेपाली युवाहरुलाई आव्हान् गरिएको छ।
कुवेतको राम्रो कम्पनीमा राम्रो काम र दाम पाइन्छ भनि लोभमा परी कुवेत पुगेर फर्किएका सुरेश खत्री म्यानपावरको नाम परिवर्तन गरेर युवाहरलाई इराक पठाउने विरुद्ध आफूसंग प्रमाण रहेको बताउँछन्।
इराकी जेलमा रहेका ति चार नेपालीलाई सरकारले छिटो छुटाउने पहल नगरेमा मृत्यु हुन सक्ने भन्दै छिटो उद्धार गर्न सुमनकी श्रीमतीले मानवअधिकार कर्मी र सरकारसंग आग्रह गर्नुभएको छ।
रोजगारीको खोजी गर्ने क्रममा इराकी जेलमा रहेका सुमनका चार छोरा एक श्रीमती र बृद्ध आमा हुनुहुन्छ। छोराहरु पेम्बा र पासा• महेन्द्र मावि पदमपोखरीको कक्षा ९ र ७ मा पढी रहेका छन्। अर्का छोरा छोइसा• सनराइज बोर्डि•मा अध्ययनरत छन् भने कान्छो छोरा एफ फेन्चु डेढ वर्ष छन्।
घरको आर्थिक अबस्थाको कारण रोजगारीको खोजीमा विदेश जाने युवाहरुलाई ठग्ने मेनपावर कम्पनी विरुद्ध सरकारले कडा नीति अख्तियार गर्नुपर्ने माग भइरहेको छ। जेलमा परेकाहरुको उद्धार गर्नका लागि सुमनकी श्रीमती कान्छी मायाले नागरिक समाज, मानवअधिकारकर्मी र नेपाल सरकारसंग माग गर्नु भएको छ।
इराकबाट पठाएको चिठीको व्यहोरा-
श्री आदरणीय दाजु तथा भाइ सम्पूर्ण नेपालीहरुलाई हामी चारैजनाको तर्फबाट नमस्कार छ।
विशेष खबर त अब हाम्रो तपाईहरुलाई के सुनाउनु ज्यादै नाजुक भइसकेको छ। विशेष गरेर यो चिठ्ठी प्.ी.न्. कम्पनीको इ।ऋ।त् सेक्सनमा रहेका सम्पूर्ण दाजुभाइ र विशेष आवाशीयमा रहने रेशम लामा, अर्जुन लामा, कुमार लामा र सम्पूर्ण साथीहरु हामीहरुले सम्झेको छौं। रेशम, अर्जुन, कुमार दाजुहरु हामी अहिले इराकको बास्रा जेलमा छौं। हामीलाई कम्पनीले के गरि राखेको छ, थाहा भएन, कम्पनीले पैसा तिरे भनी हामी छिटो छुट्ने छौं। अलिहे हामीलाई यहाँबाट फोनको सुविधा छैन। १ जना हामी जस्तै पाकिस्तानीलाई कम्पनीले त्यहाँबाट पैसा तिरेर छुटाउने भएको हुनाले हामीले यहाँबाट यस पत्र लेख्ने मौका पायौं। तपाईहरुले कम्पनीमा गएर के कुरा भइराखेको छ। हजुरहरुले अब पक्का गएर कसरी हुन्छ हामीहरुलाई यहाँबाट छुटाउने कोशिस गर्नुहोला। कम्पनीले पैसा तिर्यो भने हामीहरु चाँडै छुट्ने छौं। नभएदेखि हामीहरुलाई मार्छ होला। हाम्रो त जिन्दगी गयो-गयो हामी जस्तै नेपालीहरुको यस्तै हाल हुनेछ। हाम्रो सेक्सना रहेका ओम दाइ प्रेम, जबेगु, तेज नारायण, प्रेम साह, रामचन्द्र घिमिरे, रामचन्द्र खड्का, तर्ीथ सम्पूर्ण नेपालीहरु बिचार गरेर इराक आउनुहोला। अर्जुन दाई हामी जिन्दगीको थोरै आशा हजुरहरुमा छ। हजुरहरुले कम्पनीमा गएर प्रेस गरिदिनुपर्यो। कम्पनीले हजुरहरुलाई १-२ दिनमा निकाल्छु भनेर झुलाउला, त्यसमा भर नपर्नु होला। हाम्रो सेक्सनका साथीहरुलाई के गरेर हुन्छ सम्झाएर हामीलाई यहाँबाट छुटाउने प्रयास गर्नुहोला। हामीहरुको केही पनि गल्ती छैन। सबै कम्पनीको गल्ती हो।
हामीहरु यहाँ १५ जना छौं। हामीलाई बगदात लगेर ५ दिन राखौं, त्यसपछि हामीलाई कुवेत बोडरमा ल्यायो र १० दिन राख्यो। हामी १० दिन बस्ताखेरी हामीले कम्पनीमा फोन गरेका थियौं। हामीलाई तिमीहरु त्यही बस गाडीखाली गरेर मात्रै आउनु पर्छ, तिमीहरु त्यहाँ बस्दा के भयो तिमीहरुलाई कम्पनीले तलब दिएको छैन भनी ११ दिनको दिन हामीहरुलाई पुलिसले समातेर बास्रा चौकीमा लगेर २४ दिन राख्यो र हामीलाई धेरै यातना दियो एउटा सानोकोठामा ५० जनासम्म राख्यो र त्यहाँ आफ्नै पैसाले किनेर खान पर्ने रहेछ। र कोही संग पनि पैसा थिएन। २४ दिन हामीले के गरेर वितायौं। र अहिले हामीलाई बास्राको जेलमा लगेर राखेको छ। र हामीलाई कोर्टमा पनि लगेको छैन र हाम्रो कहानी यही हो। र हामी नेपाली इश्वर बस्नेत रामबहादुर र्राई, सुमन लामा, कृष्णबहादुर महत छौं।

it’s so sad. after reading this, i feel so much pain, fear and anger and hopeless. government of nepal has no eyes, no ears but just a two tongued mouth. if i had gun in my hand i would shoot these bloody leaders of nepal. isn’t there a way out? immediate pressure has to be made to the government to solve this.

I just recall the news once you made in your blog about kaju kanchha (deputy priminister), these people who say represent the people needs umbrella in hot or rainy season what about the people who voted them for the post. They don’t care about them. You need huge reform in our system as prachanda says otherwise we will never get rid of like these kinds of disaster situations. Therefore, if you asking me what would be solution for this kinds of events not to happen again Girija should be thrown from the post and needs someone who is energetic and can have vision of the future.
On the other hand, I am bit worried about our peace to land in our lovely land because of Girija. He was the one who splitted the party now offering for rejoin what a ridiculous matter to see. In one sentece Girija is stupid person and he is fitted only for the constable post. As we have seen recent move of the government appointing acting NA army chief was totally against the aspiration of people. who Girija is represented for people or else? I am very much doubt about the situation of the country could get imporved.
Lets hope governmet will do the best to take our brothers from the one of world’s notorious place. I can’t even imagine their situation being in jail.
Its all because of government weakness since it can’t opportunities people to have job and stay with their families.

I am really sad to read this news. I have been working in Iraq for almost 2 years but I never heard any news about any third country nationalities in Iraqi prison for such a long time.
Their families can not do anything to realese thier beloved relatives, they really need the goverment help. But this time the governement should be act rapidly. Don’t repeat the mistake again in this time also. They are innocent and they really need a help from Nepal Government. If they can not do anything than we can feel that It was really great mistake to born in Nepal and to be called as Nepali.
For their family, I would like to say just be patient everything will be fine very soon.
I hope to read a news in this blog site about the realease of all four nepali.

I government has proved its impotency in all sector of responsibilites. They are not different from the “Kartic Manako Kukur”. Keep fighting for piece of bone. As I see,
1. The government, lazy as they are, are not willing to work on a comprehensive law on overseas labor. So, they opt the easy way out – unnecessary control and restrictions.
2. These so-called manpower agents are nothing but traders of human beings. I find it disgusting even to waste my spit on them. Every person sent abroad illegally should be classified as ‘human trade’ or ‘human smuggling’. They’re no different from those who sell women and children in Mumbai.
These poor people are the ones who’re supporting the nation’s economy thru their remmitances. Why doesn’t the government work a bit harder to strengthen and protect their bread earners? Since they are one of the major contributors to the economy – they deserve it to be protected at all times.
By the way, is it only Nepali workers abroad who get into more troubles than others (from 3rd world countries)?
