Dear Mr. President;
We are reaching out to you to beseech your immediate attention to the simmering crisis in Nepal. As you are aware, Nepal, for the last ten years, has been an unfortunate victim of some of the worst violence of terrorism in the world. The Maoist terrorists have been committing horrific crimes unabated despite the ceasefire agreement they signed with the government nine months ago.
The Maoists have used this ceasefire simply as an opportunity to maximize their stranglehold on the people of Nepal. They have been extorting money from citizens, terrorizing and killing individuals with impunity, forcibly evicting thousands of people from their homes and lands, abducting little children from schools and forcefully recruiting them into their militia on a massive scale. They also have been preventing people from engaging in any religious and cultural activities throughout the countryside. The present communist-dominated government has shown no willingness or is unable to stop these barbaric acts from being committed by the Maoists.
What’s more, our democracy has completely collapsed. We do not have a democratically elected constitutional government. Mr. G. P. Koirala, who mismanaged our country for sixteen years, who demonstrated an insatiable appetite for power, corruption and nepotism, who was mainly responsible for the destruction of our democracy and for the rise of the Maoists, and who virtually destroyed the only democratic party in Nepal – the Nepali Congress – has regained power as prime minister in a riot with the help of the Maoists. To add insult to the gravest of injuries, the Maoists are soon going to be inducted into the government without being elected by the Nepalese populous. The Maoists have not renounced violence, and they have not surrendered their deadly weapons. Instead, they have made it abundantly clear that they have no intention of doing so.
Mr. President, we would like to recall the statement that you, along with Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh of India, made in New Delhi: “The King should handover power to the political parties. The Maoists should renounce violence and surrender their weapons.” The King has already handed over power to the Seven-party Alliance in Nepal. Yet, the Maoists have shown no indication of their intent to join the civilized world by forsaking their violent ways.
We, Nepalese, are a proud and brave people. We have fought and protected our national independence for more than two and a quarter centuries, against all odds and mightiest of forces. Like most people around the world, we long to live in peace, democracy and freedom. We also have a deep, abiding faith in our religions and cherish our unique culture and our way of life. To these ends, we will never flinch, nor choose the path of surrender or submission.
Mr. President, our principles and values may not be enough to defeat an enemy that has dehumanized its own fellow citizens and used the most heinous and brutal methods, including murder and plunder of innocent civilians, in order to impose its tyrannical ideology in Nepal. Sadly, the world is still unaware of the kind of pain and suffering the Nepalese people have been subjected to endure for a decade. Our people have been silenced at gunpoint, and, to this day, our media has not been allowed to report to the full extent the crimes committed against the people.
Although, those of us, who still believe in democracy, have not given up the fight. We have had little success so far. We are left with no choice but to accept a group of power mongers, the so-called Seven-Party Alliance, and the Maoist terrorist gang.
Indeed, it would be an understatement to say that Nepal is facing a difficult road ahead. It is becoming increasingly clear that the Nepalese people, by themselves, will not be able to defeat the deadly enemy that they are facing. We urgently need political, diplomatic and moral support from the outside world – particularly that of the United States.
We beseech you to take immediate steps to demonstrate your support for peace and democracy in Nepal. We also urge you to support our people’s cry for justice. The Maoists should be brought to justice for the appalling crimes they have committed in Nepal, not welcomed into the government. As President John F. Kennedy said, “Our goal is not the victory of might, but the vindication of right – not peace at the expense of freedom, but both peace and freedom…”
To that end, we implore you to put every pressure on the present government in Kathmandu to prevent the Maoists from joining the government. We believe that all economic aid to Nepal should be suspended immediately. Furthermore, we hope that you will withdraw U. S. government’s recognition of the present regime in Nepal and initiate other sanctions to bring pressure to bear on the present authority in Nepal. It is also paramount that the United States continues to recognize the Maoists as a terrorist organization.
Mr. President, your timely action will go a long way towards ensuring the future of peace and freedom in Nepal. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

What I am trying to say is that the leaders of Nepal loves to talk to the Indian government or Indian leaders even by compromising our dignity for their personal benefits and when they see nothing they refuse to talk to the Madeshis. The government and all others must understand madhesis are our brothers and sisters, they are Nepali like me and you my dear loktantrik friends. Don’t kill them. Terrorist Maoists have already killed so many people like the terrorist Bin Laden has killed so many in World Trade Centre in 2001. Dear loktantrik friends, the reason we have sent letter to President Bush is to seek an answer if he and his administration consider all terrorists on equal footings? My name was printed on the letter on the news paper at the column of letter to Mr. Bush. The phone call received by me one day before to attend that program by Mr. Sushil Nepal (whom I have never seen and never introduced) had called, I asked him How you get my number? he said “some one who is leading this program to be launched” I have been not interested this kind of program and I’m a 100% democratic person not mandale. I never want even to feel that way which you have published ‘Mandale’. Please take the name out from the list, I have never signed on that letter which has been sent to President Bush. It was fake, how dare they put my name without attending that program? I believe the names or real persons who launched that program are not published on that letter who wrote that exactly. Dear Republic Friends !
I remmember in last year, few mandales in US were trying to misguide during the anti royal regime movement. at that time, Gyane and Parase had sent few mandales to US with the cooperation with Moriarty.
This letter has been given to the world’s nr. 1 terrorist leader, Bush who has killed several thousand Iraqi people and invaded the country in the name of so called democray. He has no rights to attack and destroy another country. His democracy is seen and experienced in the US. His terrorist policy seen world wide- many US people hate him!
Those mandales who do not understand this fact (I see in the list, a professor, what kind of professor is he without own brain !), are not human being but close to animals ! They want to see all Nepalese to be their slave like in Rana Regime. Remmember !! This is 21st century, and the peoples level of thinking is very high in Nepal.
Can these mandales admit the truth that there were more than 10,000 people were killed by Royal regime or Royal army or police in the last 10 years? Can these mandales admit the truth on the cruel acts of Bhairab Nath Gadh who massacred several hundred people as a mass grave in the custudy?
You will be punished one day, for the brutal crime, do not call the terrorist Bush to cover up the crimes of royal regime.

‘I spy’ game over, cops arrest Kamal Thapa
Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, Jan 13 – Police on Saturday arrested home minister of the erstwhile royal government, Kamal Thapa.
Thapa’s arrest comes a day after the Parliamentary Probe Committee formed to investigate the Nagarkot and Belbari massacres held a meeting to hammer out a new strategy to record Thapa’s statement following his refusal to testify before the committee despite repeated summons so far.
Eleven civilians were killed when a Nepalese Army soldier opened indiscriminate firing at people during a local fair in Nagarkot a year ago. The soldier later had allegedly killed himself.
Likewise, seven civilians were killed when the Nepalese Army soldiers opened fire at a crowd protesting the rape and murder of a girl in Belbari in easten district of Morang last April.
The parliamentary secretariat had dispatched a letter to the Home Ministry after Thapa snubbed earlier summons in three different occasions.
Thapa has been taken to the Parliamentary Secretariat inside the Singha Durbar.
Meanwhile, the former home minister has maintained that he did not heed the summons since the ward police office and not the Parliamentary Secretariat had earlier summoned him.

Guys,
There are thousands of Nepalese residing abroad.Some are highly qualified and some are just ordinary people and the worst case is that there is considerable number of Nepalese residing in Europe and US/Canada in illicit manner.This is the fact which is not hidden from anybody today.Couple of Nepalese seek shelter in developed country in the name of political refugee with the stories of threats from Panchayat Govt., democratic parties, Maoist rebellions whatsoever.This trend was started since 1990 and now has escalated with the higher studies programs and DV. Not with the job-invitations at least. No way can any Nepali get recognized with any kind of Nepallese academic or vocational certificates.Life seems to be tougher there.
People struggling for bread and butter in those countries have hardly any time to discuss in this forum.But the ones with secured jobs and social security can beckon with all kind of patriotism and show up with much participations in this blog.
Now, this is the high time.Nepal needs her children back home.If not physically, then at least their contribution distantly. Remaining remote may not support as much as needed. You can throw all the trantrums with words in this blog but sadly, what more can be expected?
It seems, its quite hard for Umesh to run the blog with the limited resources.Please, all the good earners there ( the ones who are leading a good life), do contribute to Mero Sansar.
Except for some bloggers, the last year and the years before contributions were not very encouraging.
Last but not the least, why not approaching Bush pleading him to be rational and fair in case of the Nepal? It would be phenomenal. Should it be a problem, for America is a free country as rest of world apprehends? AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR NRN FREINDS IN USA.
Dear Freinds,
I just had the opportunity to dekho this letter to The US President, and the vert thought of your concerns for us Poor beings filled my eyes with tears.
I completely agree with you that the Maoists are a bunch of terrorists who are out to recreate Mao’s China or a second North Korea in Nepal but my dear freinds have you ever given thought that pushing them back against the wall at this stage would complicate matters further and would be to no one’s benefit? My freinds,You will just loose your properties in Kathmandu but with dollar income intact, but we will loose everything including our lives.
And at that stage neither the US President or Mr. G.B. Shah will be able to protect our lives and turn things into normalcy.
We have already suffered a lot in the past.There are a lot of people in Nepal who have lost their kin, freinds,acquaintances, braved bomb threats, faced searches by the military and Moaists alike,lost jobs and properties,and we still consider ourselves very lucky that we have been residing in Kathmandu and not Rolpa.

What we need now is adherence to new norms and values.

The first and important point is whether the email is authentic. Sometimes it may be possible that some people can create such things on their own to create propaganda in media and elsewhere. If the email content is true, then the “loktrantrik” people in Nepal must be ready to overcome such obstacles, because 100% people are not in one side, and the people on the other side always try to create situations in their favor, which the history has taught us several times. The only thing is that we Nepalese have never learnt lessons from them.
The second important point is: the way with which we need to overcome such situations. We should be truely “loktrantrik” people dispite several political faiths we have. If we follow the path of finishing the opponents in any way, then the current regime and the so called “loktrantrik” parties and their followers can’t be different from the ousted royal regime and its followers. There is one popular saying in Nepali: if dogs bite us and if we bite back to the dogs, we are no other than the dogs. I think the essense of “loktantra” is not to finish the opponents at any cost and do whaever you like. It appears that the eight “loktrantrik” parties and their followers lack the essense of “loktantra”. Therefore,I believe that the change they are supposed to bring in political and other arena of Nepal will not be sustainable unless they change their attitudes, and keep coherence between what they say and do for the people and nation.

The email to president Bush brougt some attention to me. It not right to ask Mr Bush to interfere in our internal matters. But some points in that email are to take in considiration. Are moists really changed? Can we trust them? If moists lose next election, will play responsible opposition part?
What abiut so many people being tourtured and killed by them? What are the basic differences between multi party democracy 10 years back and present multi part democracy( except king has lost the power). Hello evry one!
Please donot consider every Nepalese in America like these Mandales. There are pepole who have competed with Americans and are doing good for them and their families. One thing is certain here in USA, there is no natabad, Kripabad or political favorism. We have many examples of very capable and intelligent people deprived of professional work and responsibility in Nepal who are doing great in USA. Of course Nepal is continuing with rapid brain drain.
We should see a silver lining in a black cloud too. Why not look into everything with an independent common sense that comes from our hearts!
The question of dual citizen should be decided based on national interest but not on the NRN business-minded lobby. The heart and mind of a true Nepalese will not change by a dual citizenship certificate.
The sad thing is that Nepalese society is degrading with dishonesty, opportunism, decling integrity, and too much politics in everything. Even human right isntitutions are given a political color! How can the next generation be better than us in this environment?

We cannot underemphasize a link between the separatist movement in Terai and a letter to Bush. We cannot rule out the possibility of King’s or their henchmen role in Terai movement.
We have witnessed 13000 (includes all ethnic people) sacrifices to restore peace…. Jwala Singh must understand that in case if this sessionist movement rise with the active support of either King or foreign element/s, it will reward thousands of people’s sacrfice just for nothing.
One thing must be clear to all other Nepalese too, teraibashi are also pure Nepalese, and must have the equal access for rights and freedom.
But movement for independence is totally unacceptable – this must be acknolwedged by King and Teraibashis.
1. If this is the movement supported by king, in case if it is defeated, he wont be able to stay in Nepal and get ready with visa to fly for assylum.
2. In case, if it is the movement supported by foreign element/s, then Nepal is going to be long run battleground very soon.
My fellow Nepalese, we have to keep it in mind.
We are always with them (Teraibashis)of their demand for EQUAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOM but cannot support for separate state.
However, we cannot rule out the possibility of autonomous province within the federal structure in coming days.

हुंदा हुंदा भर्खरै नेपालबाट अमेरिका आइपुगेका तिब्वतीयन भाषाको पत्रिका निकाल्छु भन्ने भोजराज थपलियाको नाम पनि देख्दा यिनको पनि अमेरिकामा बसेर पत्तो बनाउने ध्याउन्न मै यसमा नाम समावेस गरे जस्ता छन् नि यदि तिनै भोजराज हुन् भने । अर्की नेपाल विद्यार्थी संघमा सक्रिय रहेकी पर्ूव कांग्रेसी मन्त्री विपिन कोइराला पुत्रीको पनि नाम देख्दा लाग्छ तिनलाई पनि अझै पत्तो बनाउने शुरु नै छ जस्तो छ ।
अरु त तिनै ठकुरी माइलाको जय गाउनेहरु नै हुन् त्यस्ता जय गाउनेहरुको कुरा गर्नु कुनै उपयोगी पनि हुंदैन त्यसैले यतिका वर्षम्म अमेरिकामा बस्दा पनि मर्ुखहरुको बुद्धि फिरेनछ यहांभन्दा बढी के नै पो भन्न सकिन्छ र यी मण्डलेहरुलाई ।
यिनीहरुलाई अझै थाहा रहेनछ । भीरबाट लड्न लागेको गाईलाई राम राम मात्र भन्न सकिन्छ कांध थाप्न सकिदैन भन्ने कुरो । लाग्दो हो मोरियाटीको भाषा बोल्यो भने हामीलाई पक्का अमेरिकाले पत्तो दिन सहयोग पुर्याउंछ किनकी हामीलाई माओवादीहरुले नेपाल जान दिदैंन किनकी हामीले यसरी विरोध गरेका छौं त्यसैले हे प्रभु हामीलाई अमेरिकाको शरणार्थी बनाइ दे भन्न भक्तहरुको यो आफ्नै पीडा पोखेका हुन् त्यसैले यस्ता भक्तहरुलाई के नै पो भन्नु र ?
