शुक्रबारको दिन नेपालको इतिहासमा कस्ता-कस्ता घटना भएका थिए भन्ने कुरा त तपाईँहरुलाई थाहै होला। यस्तै एउटा शुक्रबार थियो हिजो। आफूलाई लोकतान्त्रिक परिपाटीमा ढालिरहेका सेनाभित्रका राम्रा समूहलाई समेत अप्ठ्यारो पार्ने काम गर्यो हिजो भएका दुई घटनाले। दुवै घटनामा संलग्न ती सैनिकहरुमा हतियारको सनक चढेको रहेछ। पहिलो घटना भएको थियो नवलपरासीमा। केटी जिस्क्याएको निहुँमा झगडा भएपछि सेनाले घर-घर गई स्थानीय बासिन्दालाई कुटेछन्। दोस्रो घटना भएको रहेछ काठमाडौँ उपत्यकामा। प्रधानसेनापतिका एक अंगरक्षकले रक्सीको सुरमा पेस्तोल देखाउँदै सबलाई सुट गर्ने धम्की दिएछन्।
नवलपरासीको घटनाको विरोध गर्दै स्थानीय बासिन्दाले शनिबार महेन्द्र राजमार्गको दाउन्ने खण्डमा अवरोध पुर्याई चक्काजाम गरेका छन्। दोषी सेनालाई नहटाएसम्म उनीहरुले चक्काजाम नखोल्ने रे।
भएछ के रे भने शुक्रबार साँझ दाउन्ने बजारमा एउटी युवतीलाई केही सैनिकले जिस्क्याइदिएछन्। सैनिकहरु दाउन्ने डाँडामा रहेका टावरहरुको सुरक्षा गर्नका लागि खटिएकाहरु रहेछन्। उनीहरुको दुर्व्यवहारको विरोध गर्नेहरु र सेनाबीच झडप भएछ। झडपमा दुई सैनिक पनि घाइते भएछन्। गाउँलेहरुका अनुसार सेनाले रक्सीको सुरमा घर-घर गई स्थानीय बासिन्दाहरुलाई पनि कुटेछन्।
अर्को घटनामा जावलाखेलको एउटा रेस्टुरेन्टमा रक्सीको सुरमा पेस्तोल देखाउँदै प्रधानसेनापतिका बडीगार्ड असिमदेव गुरुङले सबैलाई सुट गर्ने धम्की दिँदै तोडफोड र कुटपिट गरेछन्। रेस्टुरेन्ट मालिकले माअोवादीलाई खबर गरेपछि त्यहाँ पुगेका दुई माअोवादीले उनलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएछन्।
प्रधानसेनापतिका अंगरक्षक माअोवादीको नियन्त्रणमा हुँदा अप्रिय स्थिति आउन सक्ने भएकोले बार एसोसिएसनका माअोवादी निकट मानिने महासचिव रमण श्रेष्ठ र अरु मानवअधिकारकर्मीहरुको पहलमा उनलाई छुटाएर प्रहरीमा बुझाएछन्। त्यसपछि सेनाले जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयबाट बुझेर लगी सैनिक हिरासतमा राखिरहेका रहेछन्।
दुवै घटनाका दोषीलाई सेनाले कारबाही गर्ने भनेको छ। तर यी हतियारधारीहरुले कारबाही गर्छु भनी भन्ने गरेको कुरामा भने शंकै लाग्छ मलाई। अस्ति नै मधेशी विद्रोहको कारण बनेको लहान घटनामा गोली चलाउने दोषीलाई पनि कारबाही गर्छु भनिएको थियो। खै, कारबाही भएको थाहा पाउनु भयो ?

I think minor incidences are more highlighted for last couple of days in this blog. We heard Tharu community are taking to the streets. Kirats were also strike. How is going with them?
Country is going to have federal governance. It may be worth discussing the modality of federalism. Our prosperity lies on the sustainable resource management.
The cultural and geographical landscape of Terai and Pahad are synergistically interdependent. Our granery in Terai hinges on greenery in the hills. Conversely when hill turn nude, terai turns barren. So there is need of not only the communal harmony, but also natural harmony between Terai and Pahad. The carrying capacity (ability of our land to support human lives) therefore depends on how benignly we manage our watersheds. So if we are to prosper, the federal units of our governance should be based on watershed management concept. If the federal structure is created based on ethnicity, it will terribly undermine the upstream-downstream synergy that will lead us to despairity instead of prosperity. In fact, the watershed model of federalism was already proposed by Mr Pramendra Bhagat, who currently expressed extremist views about Terai unrest.

There is expression of wisdom in Praya’s comment. But still government will have to learn some serious lessons from this sort of incident when ill disciplined army with gun can do lot of harm to innocent people and that is not acceptable in any civilized society. An inclusive policy in gradual manner for the rest of the army and their is always highly appreciable but as long as the top brass extremely loyal to king are holding the post army’s behavior will be always doubtful. In the process of gradual change there must be change in the top army rank who fully support the democracy rather than half hearted support or their regular behavior “tak pare tiwari natra gotame”. What happened to the Rana General of Western Pritanak has been sacked or he is still threating the government and hatching conspiracy somewhere?

On this activities of army personnels, who r trying to make the society unrestfull, have to immediately suspended from their positon and have to be punished.
But, I THINK this democratic government doesnot hv=ave notic about this activities of those stupid arm personnels.and may say we are not noticed by the villegers who r victim from the activities.
the government should consider about the 19 days revolution done by the people to make the monarchy as garbage(now that does not have any value in the society).

TO see peaceful or peace loving Nepal, you have to to go back in time(it could be debatable even, was there a real peace then? but anyway). Nepal has changed. Rather you also have to carry a pistol for your safety. You know why? The weapon and amunition maker don’t like peace, they need more profit. Let people fight. To fight, to survive, to win is basic instint of all animal. After all we are also part of animal kingdom ( should i call it animal republic? ).
Yes, time has changed and we have to learn to live with it. Not only because, There never was a ‘RAMRAJYA’ and it will never be, but because in the so called RAMRAJYA sita was kicked from the palace when she was pregnant.
There is nothing to worry because all are part of life. If we lookback in our body, is it clean? NO. There are bacteria all over it, there are chemicals and muck and so on. But the body is functioning well.
The day it stop functioning it will die. Nothing one can do…..

Dear Friends,
Although such incidents by NA personnel is not acceptable, we should thank the NA (as an organization) for its recent support to institutionalization of democracy in the country. It has accepted the reality and I guess slowly the institution is being reformed. This gratitude towards NA is required because they have the capacity to derail the whole peace process and bring back the autocratic royal regime again. They have accepted the reality, honored the peace agreement and now slowly transforming itself into an inclusive army. I request the scholars to examine the role played by NA in our effort to transforming Nepal after April moverment. At least they did not play the negative role. Do not we see a positive trend?. Could we imagine NA taking action against it’s top general for giving political statements one year before?. I see positive things happening within NA which is good for our future.
