And why customer can not go over there ? the customer can be from any countery and from any sector . This is the headace of UN not headace for Nepali . The goverment should findout what is the elligal Oppening such bar and resturant is legial or not elligal & go to the customer at that bar and resturant is legal or elligal If any foreigener and deplomatic person doing elligal work in the our countery then the goverment can out him and punishment them ,But there is not any clear vesion and rule abut such resturant and bar .

  UNMIN officials are not to be blamed. Places like COBRA and FIRE PLACE in Thamel, are meant for enjoyment. If these weree illegal, it was the duty of government to monitor. Think about biological needs of UNMIN officials. Had they raped some Nepalese girl it would have been differnt thing.

  One time I wrote the story of night club to Mr, Umesh but he rejected that story coz it was in english. But i cant type exactly on unicode. It was the story of may 2007 the georgian calender’s month. I have seen that naked bar but i went there for dance like in europe. That was more than europe. There are many dance clubs who runs as night club and prostitute( like cobra and red dance bar also in thamel). If you go there, gals come to you and ask drinks and offer her service to you at RS 10000. If our people run that business and our nepalese gals do that kind of services why should we blame to others. If we don’t let that kinda club open, then nobody goes. First we have to point out to our law makers and local authorities. I have nothing to say to UNMIN.

  Hello Guys,

  Many friends wrote that “i donot believe”. why you all donot believe? because they are UN people? because they are from abroad? becase only they have moral? because our paper is doing yello journalism? so you need give reason with some base or facts.

  yes, media wrote with some proof so we have to belief. Matter is that is it big issues? why big news?
  there is answer UNMIN or any international organisation working any foreign land means they have to follow law of land. although there is always some shorts of immunities for diplomat but not for these cause. I am not saying this is good or bad or big issues or small. but question is that they broke law of Nepal. this is big issues.
  And many UN staffs basically peace keeper been in poor country and of course they have good salary in comparision with Nepali money so they can speant. it does not mean they can do what they like. it does not mean they are out of law. it does not mean they can involved freely in prostitution in Nepal. they all should know proustituation is illegal in Nepal so …just they are ignoring nepalies law. and thanks these writer wrote these article.

  One commentator comment in this blog from Germany i think , he didnot believe, because western are open in sexual issues. what does it mean? not only you living in europe, they are plenty of people like you and me live in europe and studying european way of life. so because of colour, region, and country you can judge people that i mean.

  I don’t think the story is untrue. There might be many more minor but similar cases not only in ktm but also in other parts. We need to explore and we will know the fact. The problem is – we only know after time passes and we are left helpless. It is sad but normal that foreign guests start to rule and corrupt when they stay longer.

  Hard to believe but i myself have gone to naked dance bars with police inspectors in ktm.

  I dont like such places but that was a kind of surprise for me.

  Rules are made by humans, so they will be broken by humans.

  look at malaysia’s health minister. Can anyone believe that a man at such important position and with a family can be involved in sexual intercourse with other girl.

  I sometime find this kind of things confusing.

  This is 99% true, I have my fren who is working in UNMIN as a assistant. They frequently go to Dance bar, they need hairless girls, mrijauna and alcohol. they have dollar money, so they enjoy it. By the way its a duty and moral for the citizen who are staying at KTM and around thamel. And the dance bars are protected from POLICE and political leaders…..One day their sisters and daughter may be in that bar.

  The kathmandu dance bars are also one othe most exciting place for the married persons who are from out of valley, they are business man, thekedar, sons of jamindar etc…………… Its a secondary Nepal Rastra bank of Nepal.

  As a nepali,I am against of Prostitution and Nude dance bar….can u go with your family in that BAR????

  make legalise for the sex market otherwise we can listen these sort of news daily……..and the gurls working on the dance bar and cabin restaurent are their job so instead of spreading news like this…..give the justice to the shoshit gurls who have done entertain to the customer but they are not getting the enough money for their survival. if we do legalise then it can be one of the tourist business as well as local person can go to entertain without hesitation but there should be higher tax on it so that country can benefit from it.

  Unethical, lowely, despicable, pitiful journalism by “Daily Metro” and one more paper.

  Oh yes… this/these journalist(s) were pretty much in same footstep with those subjects, atleast it seems that. Only difference that might have happened on that night at the spot was … these guys are running short on cash compared to those UN employees.

  Poor and lowely journalist got ticked-off because they cannot afford against the green .. hence the Hot new.

  May god give these journalists some wisdom so that they can fight against this rampant flesh business rather than creating these kinds of cheap character assassination.

  Lets hope UNMIN probe into the issue promptly, punish the involved ones and discloses their report to media.

  I couldn’t understand why people are taking this as a big issue. Actually, UN staffs are also human beings and they have right to enjoy their life. If they go to dance bar to enjoy, what mistakes they did. I don’t think that this is a serious matter. If a Nepali citizen can go to dance bar, a forign national also go there. This is just a propoganda. Don’t waste your time and effort in this nonscence business.

  Difficult to Believe!

  The highly qualified professionals from UNMIN are not supposed to do that. Probably they hadnot done it. But, there might be some human errors or weakness. They are quite open about sexual activities. That strengthen the claims of journalists. However, the Sandhyakalin newspaper, are not much trust worthy. Once the hawker was crying about the “Babu Ram has been arrested” and the headline of that newspaper was also the same. I bought the newspaper and I didnot find any news about the arrest of Baburam bhattarai. Only this is the selling strategy of that newspaper. It was the story of 3 years back.

  Within these three years, lots of water has been flown in Bagmati river. Our journalists has been more sincere about their profession.

  Anyway, this should be examined by UNMIN and Nepal Government. If it is proved, then they should be punished according to law of Nepal Government and UNO.
