एमालेले राष्ट्रपति पाउने द्विपक्षीय सहमति माअोवादी र एमालेबीच भइसके पनि राष्ट्रपति चाहिँ को बन्ने भन्ने बारे प्रष्ट भइसकेको छैन। एमालेले आफ्ना पूर्व महासचिव माधवकुमार नेपाललाई र माअोवादीले चाहिँ सहाना प्रधानलाई राष्ट्रपति बनाउन चाहेको र माधव नेपाल पनि राजनीतिक भेटघाटमा लागिसकेका छन्। तर यी दुवै नामबीच अर्को एउटा नाम पनि शान्त रुपले भित्रभित्रै आइरहेको छ, पूर्व सभामुख सुवासचन्द्र नेम्वाङको।
एमाले महासचिव झलनाथ खनालले केही दिनअघि कसैले नसोचेको व्यक्तिलाई राष्ट्रपति बनाउने सहमति हुन लागेको छ भनेर नेम्वाङलाई नै संकेत गरेको हुनसक्छ।
माधव नेपालले राष्ट्रपति बन्न अस्वीकार नगरे पनि निर्वाचनमा पराजित भएको हुनाले उनलाई राष्ट्रपति बनाउन हुँदैन भन्ने लबिङ एमालेभित्रै पनि भइरहेको छ।
उनीहरुले मदन भण्डारीको जनताको बहुदलीय जनवादमा समेत जनताबाट अनुमोदित नभएकालाई सत्तामा ल्याउन नहुने उल्लेख भएको तर्क गरेका छन्।
माअोवादीले महिला नेतृ सहाना प्रधानको नाम प्रस्ताव गरेको छ।
दुवै नाममा विवाद भए सहमतिका लागि पूर्व सभामुख सुवासचन्द्र नेम्वाङको नाम आउन सक्ने बताइएको छ। यो नाम अहिलेसम्म बजारमा चर्चा नभएको नाम थियो। नेम्वाङ संविधान सभाको निर्वाचनमा शानदार रुपमा निर्वाचित पनि भएको, उनी जनजाति पनि रहेको हुनाले उनको नाममा सहमति जुट्न सक्ने बताइएको छ।
यद्यपि, हामी नागरिकहरुलाई भने रमाइलो भएको छ। कहिले दलहरु फलानो राष्ट्रपति बन्ने भयो रे भनेर भन्छन्, कहिले ढिस्कानो राष्ट्रपति बन्ने भयो रे भन्छन्। कहिले कसैले यसलाई राष्ट्रपति बनाउनु पर्छ भनेर इमेल क्याम्पेनिङ गर्छन्, कहिले कसैले अर्कोलाई।
वास्तवमा राष्ट्रपति बन्ने चाहिँ को रहेछन् ? भगवानलाई थाहा होला कि नहोला हँ ?

If Maoist gives the President seat to Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal then it will be like cutting their own words. As we all know that Maoist suprimos have been saying thousand times that they won’t give the President post to those who lost the election and we all know that Mr. Madhav Kumar lost the election from 2 places and it was very much samefull and it also clearly shows that how people hate him. If Maoist give that precious post to him it will be big same to Maoist suprimos and I strongly suggest not to give him that post. If they must give that post to some other party they can select like Mr. Maharjan (the first Maoist), out of the party like intelectuals or well educated NRIs.

राष्ट्रपतीका कुरा धेरै भए । ठट्टा पनि धेरै नै भयो । गिरिजा, माकुने वा प्रचन्ड राष्ट्रपती हुंदैमा देश खत्तमै हुने वा सप्रने होइन । तर, राष्ट्रपती राजनैतिक एबं कुटनितिक बिषय हो र त्यस्तै ब्यक्तित्व नै राष्ट्रपती हुन सुहाउंछ न कि स्वतन्त्र वा कलाकार । अहिले माओवादी र एमालेको गठबन्धनले गर्दा एमालेको तर्फबाट राष्ट्रपती हुने संभावना बढेको छ । नेवाङ पनि यो पदमा योग्य ब्यक्ती नै हुन तर, कानूनको पनि ग्याता भएकाले संबिधानसभाको अध्यक्ष बढी उपयुक्त हुनेथियो उनलाई । माकुने, साहना वा नेवाङ मध्ये ब्यक्तिगत रुपमा को उपयुक्त हो भन्दा पनि राजनैतिक योगदान र अहिलेको परिस्थितीको आधारमा पार्टिले कसलाई चयन गर्दा बढी प्रभावकारी हुन्छ भन्ने हो ।
त्यस्तै माओवादीले सरकारको नेत्रित्व गर्दैमा ठुलो परिवर्तन होला भनेर आशा गर्ने समय पनि अहिले होइन । कुरा एकता र राष्ट्रियताको हो । अहिले केही बिदेशी शक्तीले, दल बिचको एकता कमजोर पार्न चाहेका छन । त्यसैले सबै नेपाली राष्ट्रबादी राजनैतिक शक्ती एक भएर निर्णय लिनु पर्छ, मिलेर जानु पर्छ भन्ने हो । यसो गरेमा मात्र बिदेशी शक्ती कमजोर हुने हो ।

Its high time to honour the people of ethnic minority.chetris and bahuns have ruled the country for many years in differant sector of the society. Suvash Nembang has whole package of quality for the post of president. Similarly,in the vacant post (26) of CA we would like to see Mr Zonden Ukyab, Mr Pasang Sherpa, Mr Karna shakya etc. There should be quality representation from the janajati so that they can express their voices very strongly in the assembly and in making the new constitution.

Well, why don’t we understand the Maoist tactics of trying to make the mockery of the democratic norms and principal by proposing one name after another for the post of the president of the New Nepal?
Just reminding you some truths about the name proposed by them:
1)Mr. Puspha Kamal Dahal: The leader of so called Red party who campaigned 10 years in jungle for the death of 15000 Nepalese people. And with the help of politics of terror and booth capturing, become successful to garner only 29% of votes. It means that more than 69 % votes blatantly rejected their policy of the obsolete political system based on communism. I don’t know why he is on the centre stage of the polity rather than in the cross-road to be hanged to death for instigating the terrorism in peaceful country like NEPAL.
2)Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal: Explicitly rejected in two constituencies by peoples verdict. Though, he has played a crucial role in peace process.
3)Mrs Sahana Pradhan: Maoist wants to make her a rubber stamp of so called communists in Nepalese context!
4)Mr. Ram Raja Singh: An Indian idiot. Have done nothing in current political and peace process except taking lives of some people by blasting bombs 20 yrs ago. How could this idiot become president, though even most of Nepalese don’t know his name until recently?
5)Mr. Subash Chandra Nembang: A good name proposed so far but UML does not have clear mandate of people to propose him as president. His professional background of law and political experience in interim legislature could be best suitable for the post of chairperson of CA.
6)Mr. Mahanta Thakur: Blatantly rejected by people. A sycophant and Yes man of Indian leaders. If he betrays his mother party to become `yes man´ of india by defecting from NC, he could betray all Nepalese origin nepali and could help india claim Nepal as one of its state like Sikkim.
7)Mr . Gyanendra: The most ´bebkuf´ of the history of Nepal. He tried to rediscover and implement his father’s autocratic style of ruling when people have been much more sensitized by the democratic principles, rule of law & human rights. An explicit bebkuf. Even now he thinks that he is the only one nationalist who can save this country.
8)Mr. Devendra Raj Pandey: A distinguished personality from civil society. A good writer……I suggest all of u to at least go through his book ´Nepals failed development´….But not a political figure. I think a good political figure is needed to drag the country to this transitional phase in a peaceful and consensual manner.
9)Mr. Padma Ratna Tuladhar: Same as devendra raj pandey but biased in decision making towards maoist. Could not be a consensual candidate.
10)Mr. Daman Nath Dhungana: Same as devendra raj pandey but biased in decision making towards maoist. Could not become a consensual candidate.
Among these abovementioned names, figures, personalities, I have not seen any personalities who can head the country and help run the country in transitional phase in peaceful manner without compromising sovereignty of the country.
Guys, look back the last two years since the Jana Andalon-II. You can easily feel the person on center stage. Who has helped gathered supports from each and every walks of lives society, institution, country, region and world to achieve the democratic republic agenda of Nepal in an exceptional successful way. The much needed and difficult to imagine CA election has completed. For the last two years if he runs the country and helps achieve the country the much needed transitional guidance towards the peace process satisfying all parties and groups, then I think he is the best person among the contemporary politician who can lead for another two years in the constitutional making process too so that we can say that we are a citizen of a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC with dignity. He is the personality whom we all believe for last 2 yrs and who wont allow other political parties to go far away from this main theme of Democratic republic.
Otherwise, say by heart, would you be happy to be a citizen of PEOPLES REPUBIC or COMMUNIST REPUBLIC. Saying frankly, I won’t be happy being a citizen of peoples republic or communist republic. Maoists are trying to make the country in this political set up. So they are bargaining now for the post of president so that they can easily transform the country to People ’s Republic or communist republic without any obstacles. They have perceived that who is gonna be the main hurdles of their objective. That’s why they don’t want his elevation to the post of president.
Do u want our country to be based on the political set up that is same as countries like north korea, cuba, firmer soviet sangh? The selection of president matters a lot in this context too. So, think about your future, your country, your profession, international prestige when these Maoist people come to power. I am feeling quite uncomfortable to see that in 21st century our country is becoming a communist country from a democratic country……
We are gonna loosing our human rights what we have now! We are gonna loosing our press freedom and right to information what we have now! We are gonna facing impunity rather than rule of law! We are going to feudal age rather than modernity! Same on u all and me too!

Subash Nembang is the perfect candidate.
Guys , it takes lots of determination and hard work to be above petty party politics of corruption and nepotism. Mr Nembang is a clean man although some commentators above have criticised his release of an Interpol fugitive but in my opinion as is true in every law, if you donot have enough evidence of 110% to put somebody in jail, you better not do so. Isn’t it ?

To the best of my knowledge and judgement, Shree Subash Nembang is the RIGHT person to be the first Presedent of Naya Nepal(I dont care about what party he belongs). As far as I know, he is clean, fair, not selfish, greedy, uncorropt and intellegent among all the Bahun politicians. Please do not mind, if I say that all the bahun politicians in all parties should be kicked out, because they always say our party, I, but never say for the nation, Nepal. They take shelter saying for the Janta but they donot know who is Janta? I think their own party members are the only janta for them. What about other parties members and non party members(common citizens)like us. They carry their party flags and proud of it but not the National Flag. I suggest every citizen of Nepal should given permission to have Nepals National Flag at home and hoist during any national festivals like in othe Democratic countries but not the party flags. We are Nepali and proud to be a Nepali.

I feel that the two-party pact between two large communist parties will porbably bring an end to the kind of consensus politics we’d seen in the last two years. If some major party sees a motive, in this pact, of sidelining its role in the country’s future politics, that party will without doubt play towards creating political instability in the future. And, strong foreign helping hands are always available to anyone who wants to create trouble in Nepal.
It’s difficult to see why the Maoists are against having a president from a particular party at a time when they’re going to lead a government that, in their own words, will change the face of the country in all facets of development. If they have the commitment and plans for future developmental activities, I don’t think a ceremonial president (whoever the person is) will have a courage to create troubles in good works done with good intentions.
The Maoists’ idea of floating different names for the post of President and changing their stand from time to time has become a kind of joke similar to the one we had about the Prime ministerial post during Gyanendra’s rule. Since they are inconsistent in their words (they first said they want the president from their own party, then they agreed for someone outside of party politics, then said no only to leaders of two big rival parties and now they agree for anyone not from one particular party), the whole drama could be an attempt to contain differing opinions within their own party itself.

Subhash Nembang, who also won the election, is far better then MaKuNe, who lost in two-two constituencies. Nembang is himself a lawer, and can contribute a lot in drafting constitution and it’s retification.
After all, he contributed a lot in the last parliament as the speaker and has clean personality as compared to Makune. He is also from Janajati and it will be a great respect of so far marginalized people such as janajati, dalit, madheshi if he is appointed as the first president of Nepal.

oh he is a decent, sober and good politician and has received support from peoples too. We wont go wrong nominatingSWubash Nemang as the President of Nepal. on the other hand, he is a “jangati”, which is really positive and will include jangaties on the new political scenario. and they will not feel that they are isolated by our system.
Although Madhav kumar Nepal has done a great contribution on the restoration of peace during past years, I think he is not an appropriate candidate for the Presidency. First thing is he wasn’t even nominated from the last election, and second thing is he is the same old repeated politician.

We are making its very funny…Actually President should be a common person of all parties….If Maoist and UML will be together that can not solve the problem.
Just need to think it,s a time to think and mange whole issues, not only the president.so It is better that Maoist is a biggest party so it can choose a post and then NC is second largest party then congress can choose one and UML and like this others.
