हाल नेदरल्यान्डसमा रहेकी बीना गिरीले विमानस्थलमा भोग्नुपरेको हैरानीका बारेमा ब्लग लेखेकी थिइन् माइसंसारमा गत जुन ८ तारिखमा। उनले लेखेकी थिइन्, पटक पटक नचाहिने कुरा गरेर घुस मागेर दुःख दिइयो। यहाँ क्लिक गरी हेर्नुस्। यो ब्लग छापिएपछि यहाँ कर्मचारीहरुबीच ठूलै हल्लीखल्ली मच्चियो। अध्यागमनका अधिकारीहरुले यस विषयमा विस्तृत छानबिन पनि गरे। अनि यस्तो ठहर गरे- उनको कथा पूरै नक्कली हो र उनले वास्तविक सूचना ढाँट्न खोजेकी छन्। नेपाल अफिसर्स अनलाइन टीमको नामबाट इमेलमा प्राप्त स्पष्टीकरण पढ्न भित्र आउनुस्।
अध्यागमन कर्मचारीको दावीका प्रमुख बूँदा-
• बीना गिरी वास्तवमा नेदरल्यान्डस् घरेलु बाल हेरचाहकर्ता (au-pair) का रुपमा काम गर्न जान लागेकी थिइन्। १५ अप्रिल २००९ का दिन उनी आरए २१७ बाट उड्न चाहन्थिन्।
• अध्यागमन कर्मचारीहरुले उनको कागजातमा ‘रोजगार अनुमति’ नदेखेपछि रोकेका हुन्। नेपालको अध्यागमन र वैदेशिक रोजगार कानुनमा विदेश जाने सबै नेपालीले रोजगार अनुमति अनिवार्य रुपमा लिन जरुरी छ।
• अध्यागमन विभाग, डिपार्चर डेस्कले उनलाई कानुन अनुसार प्रस्थान अस्वीकृति पत्र पनि बुझाएका थिए।
• गिरी कै अगाडि यो जानकारी डच कन्सुलर, श्रम डेस्क कर्मचारी, वैदेशिक रोजगार विभागका अधिकारी र उनी उड्न लागेको विमानका कर्मचारीलाई दिइएको थियो। हामीले उनलाई रोजगार अनुमति चाहिन्छ भनी बरोबर बुझाउन खोजेका थियौँ।
• उनको नक्कली कथामा बयान गरिए जस्तो त्यहाँ केही भएको छैन। (अर्थात् घुस ले भन्या छैन भनेको होला)
• उनी विमानस्थलबाट फर्कनु परेकोले रिसाएकी थिइन्।
• उनले अध्यागमन कर्मचारीहरुलाई राजनीतिक र प्रशासनिक तवरबाट दबाब दिने कोशिश गरेकी थिइन्। हामी डटेर बस्यौँ। उनको गैर कानुनी दबाबबाट हामी झुकेनौँ। अनि उनी रिसाइन् र हामी सबै कर्मचारीलाई चेतावनी दिइन्। र अन्त्यमा आएर एउटा ब्लगमा झुठो कथा छापेर अध्यागमनलाई बदनाम गराउन खोजिन्।
• पछि उनले वैदेशिक रोजगार विभागबाट रोजगार अनुमति लिएर आइन् र १६ अप्रिल २००९ का दिन आईसी ८१४ फ्लाइटबाट उडिन्।
• उनको नक्कली कथामा उनले आफ्नो तर्फबाट भएका कमी कमजोरीका बारेमा भने केही उल्लेख गरेकी छैनन् र आफू टुरिस्ट भिसामा जान लागेकी जस्तरी लेखेकी छिन्। सामान्यतया टुरिस्ट भिसामा जाँदा अध्यागमनले इन्भिटेसन/स्पन्सर लेटर, पासपोर्टमा रकम र वैध भिसा छ कि छैन हेर्छ। रोजगार भिसामा भने स्पन्सर, रकम आदिका बारेमा केही सोधिँदैन। यसमा खाली रोजगार अनुमति स्टीकर र वैध पासपोर्ट र वैध भिसा हेरिन्छ। अउ पेयर वैदेशिक रोजगार कानुन अनुसार वैदेशिक रोजगारको परिभाषामा पर्छ।
• अध्यागमन कर्मचारीहरु अब चुप लागेर बस्दैनन्। अध्यागमन र नेपाल सरकारको राष्ट्रिय तथा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय क्षेत्रमा बदनाम गरेकोले उनी विरुद्ध मुद्दा चलाउँछौँ।
अर्थात् सोझो अर्थमा बुझिने कुरा-
हामी सोझासाझा अध्यागमनका कर्मचारीलाई जथाभावी भन्ने ? हामीलाई त्यसै घुस खान खोज्यो भन्ने ? हामी त कानुन पालना पो गरिरहेका थियौँ। हामीले केही गलत गरेका छैनौँ। हामीले कसैलाई केही दुःख दिएका छैनौँ। नचाहिने कुरा गरेर जनतालाई झुक्याउने ?

In Binus’s case, TIA staff might be true or might not. Detail investigation is required to settle this issue but it is for sure that TIA Staffs are corrupted. Money makes the difference in rule. If one pays, s/he will be allowed even there is no proper documentation done but genuine people are suffering.
I take it positively and good that wrong should be punished, if TIA officer are planning to sue against Ms. Binu BUT beware of the consequences that may arise because you officers out there are not pure (for sure). I request TIA staff, if Binu has been trying to mislead, sue against her but be ready as those who have suffered even after having genuine documents may sue against you as well.
Binu might be wrong but do not justify that you people are not corrupted and are pure. No one is going to trust you all because everyone is aware about wrong activities inside airport otherwise you all were not urged to wear pocket less (Sounds Funny..heheheh). Even you give 100 pages of clarification you will never going to gain the faith of Nepalese people which you all have lost already.
I have seen many cases and much aware about all those corruption inside airports and there are organized group who are involved ON “AIRPORT SETTING”.
I am personally sick and tired from the staff of government staff.Wherever you go there is no proper system, offices are unhygenic , slow work,1 No. kotha ma janu , 2 No. Janu hoina 4 number ma.Complete bullshit messing around. I went through all of that in the airport few yrs ago.
they even did the investigation for my original green card and make me wait in the airport for 2 hours and i missed my flight…so the airport workers don’t lie to public anymore, everbody knows your attitude. Blood suckers.

एकपल्ट immigration मा body check गर्दा basket मा राखेको कलम लिना बिर्सें, र केही बेर पछी फिर्ता लिना जाँदा कतै फेला पारीएन – तर मैले छोड्दै छोडिन, यहीँ हुनु पर्छ भनी अडान लिएर बसेँ। केहीबेरका कुनै उपाय नलागेपछी एकजना ब्यक्तीले खल्तीबाट ३ वटा कलम निकाले र सोधे “तपाईँ को कुन चाँही हो?” एउटा कलम नि नछोड्नेहरु कती लाज नभएका!
अर्को काण्ड: मैले एउटा साथीको लागि speaker हरु लिएर फर्केको थिएँ। भन्सारमा एउटाले “यसको कर तिर्नु पर्दैन, सुन चाँदी छ कि छैन?” भने (सोधे)। उता फेरी “यस्को कर तिरेर आउनुस्” भने। फेरी फर्केँ declaration गर्ने ठाउँमा, र त्यहाँ फेरी त्यही कुरा “सुन चाँदी छ कि छैन? यस्को कर तिर्नु पर्दैन”। यसरी २~३ पटक यता उता गरेपछी, होइन जे भएनी कर तिर्छु भनी बाहिर बाट आमा सँग रु ५०० मागेँ र तिरेँ। अनी बाहिर निस्कने बेलामा त्यहाँ रहेका प्रहरीले ढोका खोल्न मानेनन – भने: “खै चिया कफी पाउँ न!” कती लाज नभएकाहरु भने! मैले भने “पैसा छैन”, उनिहरु अज जम्मेर भने “केही छैन, डलर भए’नी हुन्छ”। केही बेर कचकच पछी बल्ल ढोका खोलिदिए। अनी, २ दिन पछी पो थाहा पाएँ, आमाले दिनु भएको नोट ५०० को नभै १०००को पो रहेछ, मैले पनि रिसको झोकमा नहेरी पैसा दिए। मैले रिसको झोकमा दिएपनी पैसा फिर्ता गर्ने उनिहरुको जिम्मेवेरी होइन र भने? त्यतिकै खाए रु ५००।
अर्को काण्ड: एक पटक नेपालबाट बाहिर जाँदा बिमानस्थलमा मेरो luggage खोल्न लगाए। ल, ठिकै छ नि खोल्दिन्छु भनेँ। कती गाह्रो गरी मिलाएको लुगा जथाभावी निकाल्न थालेपछी मैले बिरोध गरेँ। र के भन्छ तिनिहरु! “हामीलाई थाहा नभएको हो र ? विद्यार्थी को नाम मा बिदेश गएर भाँडा माझ्ने हरु त हो नि!” म पानी तात्तिएँ र केही बेर पछी एकजना अली senior खाले अफिसर आए र “लुगा मिलाएर राख्दे” भने, र त्यस्पछी चुप चाप मिलाईदिए। हैन, मैले भाँडा नै माझे नि के भो त भने? कम्सेकाम आफ्नै मेहेनत कै कमाइ हो, तिमीहरुले जस्तो ठगी, चोरी बेइमानी गरी त कमा’ होइन नि! लाज छैन अरुलाई होच्च्याउन भने??
बिमानस्थलमा airport tax लिन्छ, तर के गरेका छन त तिनिहरुले त्यो पैसामा? तपाईंहरुले एक चोटि सौचालय गएर हेर्नु भा’ छ? के हालत छ – अन्तरराष्ट्रिय बिमानस्थल, जुन चाँही नेपाल भित्रने बिदेशिको पहिलो impression रहन्छ, त्यहा को स्थिती कतीको गएगुज्रेको छ भनेर साध्यनै छैन!
बिमानस्थल र त्यहाका कर्मचारीहरुको बयान गर्ने हो भने बिना गिरीको कथा त एउटा सानो छिप्का मात्रै हो, पुरा बयान गर्यो भने रामायाण भन्दा लामो हुनेछ!

I have been travelling to Nepal almost every year for last 12 years. But I never ever had problem in the immigration flying out of Nepal. I did have problem with Custom officer on the way in to Nepal few times (you guys probably know why?) Just becuase I had a bulky suitcase, officer thought I had some goods with custom value. They took me through red channel but they didn’t find anything that they can tax me on. At the end simple word they said ” एस्सो पौण्ड सौंड नत्र डलर भए दिनोस्न”. But I simply told them, I am not giving a penny.
Now about the Bina’s Story, there might be some truth in it but there is definately lot of false statement there, Mainly like turist visa and sponsor letter issue where she was never travelling as tourist as her departure card shows she is going to Netherland for employment.
Final say: Culprit should be punished, weather it’s an officer or a traveller.

I think, you have raised a very genuine concern, well done. As your good friend, we would like to read proper investigation and its final outcome through your website. I do hope you need to play a critical role in terms of documenting the processes and way out, plus punishment to the alligator(s), if required, in liaison with the Department of Immigration, Government of Neal and the concerned authorities.
I also sincerely trust that you will not make this case as ‘just for fun’ because it has already involved the case of a person who might need your (and Nepalese people) assurance of peace and human rights. I do hope, though this might be a first small step as compare to the problems of government’s governance system, but certainly I can consider it as a very good step – so that the concerned parties would take necessary precaution while dealing with ‘human issues’.

I support your your article in this column. I really feel ashamed that we have such a corrupt airport that is an international airport. I never knew that whole the team in the airport are linked each other to obstacle the passengers.I hold Highly Skilled migrant visa and was on my way to UK in 2007 and entered the airport.As soon as I was in the airport,two staff continued following me guiding me as i was illeterate and asking different things trying to be more familiar.I am Highly educated and sought no help from them personally. On the procession, one of the official in the desk hid my transit ticket from Doha to London, and i did not know much as It was my first flight in my life. I reached the one of the official and he told me that In my passport there should be a Sticker from the Labour ministry which was a great surprise for me. Then one of the official took me to the blind spot and asked me whether I was carrying dollars and asked for 500 dollars which was disguting. I defended myself and gave them nothing and on the way to the security check,there I discovered my transit ticket was missing. my flight was 9AM and I nearly missed it.there are a lot of my friends who are cheated by the airport officials. So I would request the government to make revolution in the airport management.Nepal is the country reknowned for honesty and bravery but if the same be treated to the foeigner guests, where would be our prestige?

यो समस्या हामी सबै बिदेशमा बस्ने नेपालीको हो | हामी नेपालमा आउदा सदै केही सुधार भयो होला यसपाली भन्दै आश बोकेर आउछौ तर नेपालमा जहिले पनि यस्तै हो| जसरी भये पनि हामीलाई दुख दिन्छ! नेपालको कर्मचारिलाई पैसाले कहिलेनै पुग्दैन!!!! खाली हामीलाई दुख दिन्छन| चाए एअरपोर्टमाँ होश चाहे कुनै कागजी काममा हामीलाई कुनै न कुनै ताबर बाट घुश दिन बाध्य गरौछँ| के गर्ने नेपालको यो प्रथा कहिले बंद होला ? आज भन्दा १२ बर्स अगाडिको कुरा हो मेरो पहिलो यात्रा इंग्लैंड गर्दै थिए तर नेपाली इमिग्रेशन ले मलाई रोक्यो अंनी बोडी शर्च पासपोर्ट चैक गर्दै भन्न लाग्यो तिमीले १००० डॉलर मात्रै लानु पाउछ किन ११०० डॉलर तिम्रो साथमा छ येसरी सबै नेपाली ले धेरै पैशा बिदेश लाग्यो भने नेपाल को राजशो खत्तम हुन्छ भन्न थाल्यो र मेरो १०० डॉलर अनि नेपाली रुपीस पनि लाग्यो| म सनै थिए मैले पनि दिए अंनी बल्ल मलाई इंट्री दियो साला आहिले भाको भये केरा दिन्थे| के गर्ने नेपाल पछि पर्नु नै येस्तै कर्माचारीले गर्दा हो |

After reading bina giri case and how the governement people have tell clearly that it was her mistake. I would also like to share the similar problem that i have faced in airport. I am a PHD student, used to work in france for 2.5yrs however my project was a joint collaboration between france and switzerland university. After finishing my contract in france i went nepal for 2month gap until i dont get work permit of swizerland to work.When i took the switzerland visa and was comign to switzerland on dec 8 2008. I came to encounter lot of problem. During immigration they ask me docoument..i showed them contract document where the salarie was indicated and followed with the university which indicates that i am student of Ecole polytechnique federal de lausanne as a PHD student. When they saw the contract they the person in immigaratio nstart to shout”yeh yo ta kaam garna jana lageko rahecha”, i try to describe him detail but he called next guy and then i gave him university paper and contract everythign but for him to read half page document of university took more or less like 30minutes but i still have doubt if he understood. Then i ask him i can tell you ask me what you want to know. Then he ask my passport. I showed him “yeh tapai ta dherai ghumnu bhayeko rahecha”,i told yes. The work is like that so have to travel. Then he ask “shram mantrayala bata kaam garna jana lagnu bhaykeo documetn koi ta bhanera”I said i am not really a worker but its student. But i told him kahi pani lekeko chaina that we have to make that certificate..thaha bhayeko bhaye bhanihaltheye ni…abb tapai haru lai thaha chha bhane yehi bhanauna euta table raknu bhayeko bhane bhaihaltheye ni. Then he start to shout telling that”Dherai na karaunu hai ma tapai lai rokidinchu ani thaha paunu huncha”. Then i cannot say anything as i have to come in any case on 9th of dec in switzerland. Then after he called next guy so finall ythere was 5 guy in total. Trying to read my document. The ask almost all the doucment. Finally among 5 there was one guy who understand and was nice enough. He said let her go. Then the same guy (2nd one) told that ok we can allow you to go. The first one comment after that..”sir hami lai uaha bata dherai ani siknu rahecha uhaha ta ekdam janne po hunuhuncha bhanera” then i replied”sikne kura ko pani kahile antya or end huncha ra, manche bhaye pachi jahile pani sikna parcha..abb malai thaha theyena dherai kura ahile thaha bhayo arko pali bata yaad garchu bhanera”…Document bhayera ta tiniharu le yeti dukka dinchan abb kina bhanera ta i dont know..paisa nai khana kojeko ho ki sachaai nai chanbin garkoe ho..sachaii nai chanbin garkeo bhaye ta euta le pugihaltheyo ni 5 jana manche ta chiantheyo jasto lagtheyena…. tara last me plane chadne bela ma ke garnu je bhaye pani desh ko maya lagcha bhanera plane chade…

A policeman came and started to talk with me. He was drunk and started to ask me to give him money directly without any reason. His point was “You are going to Foreign Country, you are rich, you should think about your countrymate, give me some money, else I will not let u go.”

Story may be this one as said by the TIA officers or whoever has got the license to demand bribe. In this Bina Giri’s case if she had given the bribe on the same day and time she could have flied without further problem. If they implement law properly that’s good but here they restrict her from travelling because she didn’t gave the amount thay have asked.
The main problen lies here. If they don’t do unethical acts then they will be respeced by the people. What you do is important not what you say, therefore act ethically to make you (government officers) image better in peoples mind. We can’t accept your clarification in words only.

Hi i know this guy he is baggage handler @ TIA and guess what he bought a house in Lazimpat in 6 crorer with a massive land.he have gardeners..house keeper..drive this suzuki vitara..damn it where he get those money from ..i dont’ think baggage handler money is enough to save those money..i have seens 10′s of case like that..every person goes to airport to work with a intention of making money on other people hard earned money.this are just the crook.its not only TIA its every single sectors of nepalese govt is corrupt as hell.n its from right up the top to bottom..

well,im wid bina now in this matter ! 3 yrs ago i had fly to netherland from TIA( TRIBHUVAN INTL AIRPORT),i don wanna remember that day too, do u believe ,they check all of our documents as i was flying there to study,but later they started to ask lots of unusual questions which is not their matter too,one of lady polish lastly ask my ball pen when they don get nothing from me as gift,i dont know her before , and they said that if there is problem on my stuffs on mising they are no more responsible re , Our nepalese immigration is full of corrupted officers so we are alwys back

Nobody is going to believe these fuss “karmachari” of TIA custom. Not only Bina Giri, there are several such victims. Bina Giri is just one example. She shared her experience in the media. Other unshared such experiences are numerious. There is no meaning of giving clarifications. This is just “Bakbas”. I am not in the position to believe them at any costs as I have myself observed such many cases in the airport customs.

त्यतिखेर ती नानीहरुलाई पर्काउदा केही कारण दिएको थिएन। ती नानीहरुको भनाइ अनुसार नागरिक्ता लिएर आउनु भनेको थियो रे तर १४ वर्षभन्दा मुनिको नानीको कसरी नागरिक्ता हुन्छ। तर अहिले अध्यागमन रोकेको कारण लेखी दिने चलन सुरु भएको रहेछ। जुन अत्यन्तै प्रशंसनिय छ।
अब अध्यागमनले आफ्नो चाल पनि सुधार्नुपर्छ र हामी जनताले पनि म फलानो पार्टीको हुँ भनी कर्मचारी थर्काउने हामी नेपालीको बानी छोड्नुपर्छ र अध्यागमन जस्तो प्रख्यात ठाउँमा काम गरेर घुसजस्तो बेइजती काम गर्न छोड्नुपर्छ।
साथै हामी कमेन्ट लेख्नेहरुले पनि अलिक सभ्य हुन सिक्नुपर्छ। यस्तो रुखो र नराम्रो शब्दले हामी सबैलाई नै बिगार्छ।

Dear Nepal airport’s employes all ( Civilian and Police),
Here is Sam, Aformer police officer of Nepal. i served in Police as an police officer for about 8 years. In 2002, when I was on airport of Nepal after completion of my UN Mission assignment, I had 5 CD changer with me (worth of $169.99), I was in casual dress not on my police uniform, one of your airport junior employ came to me and asked whether I can pay Nepal rs 3000.00, so he can do it without taxes. I was shocked. politely( without giving my identity) I requested him to consider. He told me I have to talk to his Boss( name pokharel from Khotang, Kharpa)I went and asked him, that pokharel officer also told me to talk with same junior guy and deal. I was so pissed off. Then I told ok let us go to your office,(inside the room) I told to bring that my 5CD changer, he brought near me, ok let us deal. I took out my Police ID and showed him and “GAVE HIM A BIG SLAP INFRONT OF OTHER OFFICERS”. Deal was done with one slap did not pay they were so rush to cool the situations. though I manhandled or violated the humanrights. That was only option with me that time. Now I am a civilian in foreigh country. when I will be back I will carry webcam and recorder with me if same thing happens I will use the same idea to deal with you corrupt officers of Nepal.

म गत बर्ष नेपाल बाट USA को लागि फर्किदा खेरि एअर्पोर्टमा एस्तो भयो: एअर्पोर्टको immigration छिर्ने दुई तलाको भर्र्याङ् नजिकै बूथ राखेर बसेका दुई जना कर्मचारीले “ए भाई एता आउनुस् त, कहाँ जान आटेको? किन जान आटेको ” भनेर प्रश्न गरे, मैले पनि एस्सो बूथ्को नेम प्लेटमा हेरेको श्रम मन्त्रालय लेखेको रहेछ। त्यसैले त्यही अनुसार- म अमेरिका जान आटेको, त्यहा म फलानो विश्वाविध्यालयमा कार्यरत छु। हेर्नुस् मेरो कगजात भनेर भने। अनि उनीहरुलेले खोइ त भाईको स्रम मन्त्रालय बाट लिएको permit भन्न थाले । नेपालमा मैले ISc गरे। बाँकी शिक्षा बिदेशमै हाशिल गरे। अहिले काम गरि बसेको पनि १० बर्ष हुन आटि सक्यो। मेरो नेपाल सरकार सँग केही bond पनि छैन। तर मलाई थाहा भएन। मसँग अहिले labor certification छैन। मेरो काका श्रम मन्त्रालयमा अफिसर हुनु हुन्छ, उहाले हिजो केहि भन्नु भएन, मैले गल्ती गरे जस्तो लाग्यो। मेरो फ्लाईट discount मा लिएको हो, परिवर्तन गर्न मिल्दैन। केहि गरेर हुन्छ भने जान दिनुस्, सुचना प्रयाप्त भएन। म जस्ता यसरी थाहा नहुने नेपाली धेरै छन होला। सबै यसरी नै गल्ति गरि रहेका होलान् । “बरु हाम्रो देशमा अध्यागमनबाट भित्र छिर्दा खेरि ठुलो अक्षरले बिदेशमा कार्यरत नेपालीहरु बिदेश फर्किने बेलामा labor certification लिन नभुल्नु होला भनेर लेखि दिनु भयो भने ति returnee हरु त्यसरी नै तयारी गरेर आउथे होला” भनेको ल भाई, अहिले लाई जानुस्, अर्को चोटि आउँदा खेरि labor certificate लिएर आउनु होला। नत्र दु:ख मात्र पाउनु हुन्छ। यो हाम्रो देशले लागु गरेको नियम हो, त्यसैले जनताले पनि राम्रोसँग पालना गरिदिनुस्। भनेपछि मैले ल हजुर धेरै धेरै धन्यवाद। अर्कोचोटि एस्तो गल्ती गर्ने छैन भनेर बिदा लिएर आए। अनि पासपोर्टमा छाप लाउने ठाउमा immigration अफिसरले कहाँ जान आटेको, किन जान आटेको, कति बस्ने, पहिला कति बसेको, आदि इत्यादि सोधे, तर तुरुन्त छाप लगाएर दिए, त्यस्तो केहि कागजतहरु मागेनन। सबैलाई त्यस्तो hassle हुन्छ जस्तो मलाई लाग्दैन।

Majority of the folks at the immigration desk at Tribhuvan Airport are morally corrupt and lack the least amount of professionalism. Their main goal is not to validate travel documents and enforce departure immigration rules but harass people in order to extort bribes. I can personally testify (and several others travelers probably can) to incidents I have faced on my way out of the country. It just makes me sick and disgusted thinking of having to deal with these folks every time I visit Nepal.

I had flight to Quatar-London- US. The time frame was one or two days after the Liquid bomb rummer in London Airport. The person in the baggage checking told me that you are going via London with handcarry, you will have big trouble there. Please keep all the things in the your luggage. I surprised, I asked him about the weight. He told me, I will manage the weight. I took passport and camera with me. At London, I had trouble even with the camera. They looked every single photo on the camera. I like to thank him doing every thing for me. From my experience there aren’t all corrupt. There are good peoples too.

I ma very happy to know your clearication in my sanshar blog. I don’t believe your statement is 100% true! but I hope it you will be true.
I just came back from new Delhi to kathmandu after one week my visit. One of the immrogation offcier of New Delhi Airport asked me “why Nepal imrigation officer allow nepalese child workers send to Kuwait via New Delhi?” They are not more then 13-15 years old grils but most of the girls hold 20-25 years old passport. All the girls are not speck her name in English. Why Nepalese Imrigation officer allow these enocent girls to sned Kuwait and other country ? She said. Also she said every day below 18 years old girls coming to going to Arabian country via New Delhi for House Workers.”
I want to ask Imrigation officer who are working in Airport why did you send these enocent child for House Worker in Arabian country? For your kind infirmation they all girls are going through “DALAL” agent of Nepal. If you need proof you can go and see any time in new Delhi airport.

if the immigration officers are telling truth n they hav a proof….bina should b punished or if bina is telling truth n immigration officers are lying us they must be punished. i have seen with my eyes ..one of nepali girl was going to kuwait for domestic worker(khadama) n she was travelling in visiting visa which is completely wrong. she was stopped because she didnot hav return ticket. as far as i know for travelling visiting visa..there must b return ticket. so there are a lot of stories in immigration. i dont mean that immigration people dont make mistake . i mean they are not curruptor…but when they take bride?…when our documents are either fake or uncomplete. so first lets travel in right way then blame to others. i m sure if ur documents are real n u r travelling fairly…no one can u stop. miss bina if u hav proof agains immigration officer…give to media…or immigration officer if u hav proof against bina sue her according to international law.lets see who is telling truth…

I would like to share my story. I have gone out side of this country almost more than 10 times and never came accross such harrasment or questions from the officers in immigration department. My visits in Japan, Australia and Russia all were in tourist visa, may be because of that they have no questions. At one time, when I was leaving with two small kids as my wife was studying abroad, I had amazed because they have not questioned anything like why I am visiting, where is my wife etc. This is my experience, it does not justify any sincerity of officers working in the TIA but gives me sufficient confidence that they do not creat any trouble just like that. Be faithful to oneself and respect own country’s law. One thing I have bad experience, is with tha handling of my baggage. almost at 50 % time I got my baggage broken, fortunatley never lost anything.

Well, I travel to Nepal and other countries almost 2 times every year from London Heathrow airport, as long as you have relevant documents they don’t talk to me at all, not a single word.They don’t even bother to stamp the passport. I think they bringing new rules now to monitor who is leaving the country. In Nepal obviously the system is not placed.Check in does everything here, when you checking in the airport or airlines staff ask you for the visas if required. The immigration officer will just scan your Passport or visa and thats it.
When you arrive its different, you will be asked few questions to make the immigration officer satisfy,if he is not satisfy then may be more hassle or even deportation.
But in Nepal, its opposite…There is definetely some problems with the staffs as well as whole system.

The immigration officials in Nepal are indeed very corrupt. They tried to take a bribe from me when I was returning back to USA with a valid Stamp and a H-1B visa. They told me that I could not work without permission from Labour department,

Here is my story
I am from Nepal and every time I visit Nepal, I have to deal with the extremely corrupt officials at the airport in Kathmandu.
For some years, I only had an H-1B an a visa stamp on my passport, and every time I visited Nepal, on my way back to the USA, the people at the airport in Kathmandu would tell me that I could not leave Nepal before I showed other documents like permission from Nepal Governent to work abroad
(they were basically looking for a bribe, and were harrassing me so that I would give them some money in fear that I would miss my flight)
I always stood my ground and refused to budge, and they eventually had to let me go.
Now I have a green card. I have had this card for almost 2 years now. I am visting Nepal, but I am afraid that on my way back, these corrupt officials will harrass me again.
I really want to protect my green card
Is there any way I can get a visa stamp as a permanent resident so that I don’t have to hand over my green card to these corrupt idiots?

they claimed to have necessity of sponsor letter, if someone is about to go as visitor. why should it be shown to them once it is shown to the the consular office of related country? their duty is to check only whether the visa is valid or not. when i was returning from uk after finishing my study, they insisted me to show my university’s ID card. as i presented my passport to them, they were still asking for ID. so their story is only covering up.

I have read the Bina’s situation and believed that she should not be wrong by writing the scenario at the Nepal Airport. I live in Singapore, I faced the similar situation about 2 years ago. I paid for my accommodation in Ktm and ticket transfer charges… I was very lucky that my company did not sack me for being late for the work as well. My wife put extra money in my wallet without my knowledge for any situations. She saved me for being stranded further more.
I don’t blame the airport staff because they are not well educated, not trained to do their job by understanding their responsibilities and situations ahead.
I’m sure they just have feeling of getting extra money by doing such kinds of work, it don’t take time to earn.
Not only airport staff, most of the Nepali government workers are not well educated. They even don’t understand their job scope, responsibilites and so on.
It is very shameful impressions towards Nepali government.

Anyone should have the full documents to travel. If she didn’t have, and the officers gave her the written notification then its her fault. You know the Nepalese habit of “Bhansun”. It looks she is the victim of Nepali culture not the Law and the law enforcement officials. She tried to convince them verbally without the documents, which didn’t work and should not work by law.
Does any immigration in the world let you go without the required documents? They won’t let you go even if they find minor mistakes or confusion.
That’s why don’t blame others. Before going anywhere one should understand the procedures and requirements…
Then your case will be valid and strong, and you can take your stance, if otherwise.
I like the official’s reply. That’s how you need to operate and inform the people what’s going on. This may not be the truth in fullest but they dare to investigate and inform the public.

I have been travelling to nepal from US several times. I had never have any problems in Nepal airport. The people working in Kathmandu airport are very nice and helpful. I have no idea about the upper level officers who we do not need to face in the airport but the floor team are really nice. It is crowded, the building is fealthy..there is no AC there is no organised Restrooms…but that is not the floor team’s mistake. The truth is we do not like the people working there because we do not like the appearance of the airport itself and all the psychic effect.
I have seen people who want to fly abroad for work fighting with the immigration officers there for no reason. I have seen those people refusing to fill up just a form that is asked by the immigration officer. Its a law, that need to inforced by the immigration officers to everyone, I mean EVERYONE, and while enforching laws and regulations if someone is not allow to fly from there…like this lady in the above story…we have to support the staff for their good job …and motivate those people working in the airport for their good working.

There is an immense need for immediate reform at the airport specially with the officials working there and the how the whole system runs. Whatever the fact might be with BINA GIRI, we cant ignore the fact that the immigration department at TIA is the one of the most corrupted place in NEPAL. I personally know tons of people who has either been harassed or asked for bribe for immigration clearance despite their possession of correct documentation.My mother herself is a strong proof. She was returned from airport while she was on her way to New york for not giving them bribe.
Everybody knows how the corrupt system works at the airport. Even if you try to justify Bina’s case with millions of other points, the public’s view will not change.

I totally disagree with imigration staffs saying. I had faced several times problem, they just say it is FAKE VISA.and if they see you are nurvious than they will start demanding will start. Not only that they pay hefty bribe to get posted at airport and so that is their investment, so once people invest they have to get their investment back with profit. Nepali adminstration mechanism is curroupt, only it will sulve after overhall the system and all the staffs. Otherwise will remain same for generation.

if you go to other countries without work permit with visa stamped clearly stating that you can work on your passport, they will deport you back to Nepal. They will never allow you again to enter their countries in the future, once you are deported. That’s the Law/Regulations.

Once travelers have all legal documentations, then staff have no reason to stop or ask for bribe.
I have traveled many times, I have and had all the necessary documentations, I had no problems at all to enter or exit.
If you have any doubt please re-check, ask to relevant Embassies or visa sections what sort of documentation needed and all fulfilled prior to depart. Sure you need work visas.
You should be thanks to the department staff for that they have sent you back to get working visa in KTM. You save time and money in KTM.
Otherwise you could be deported back to Nepal when you reach Holland.

It is simple to justify that there is a real problem at the Airport or every entry/exit points.
Newton’s Law apply. if there is action there is reaction.
That means, there is problems creating by the staff and then reactions coming from the travelers.
No illegal entry/exit – sure staff has to check strictly;
No illegal harassing to travelers by staff;
Make sure all the legal documentations/passports/visas/legal work permits, fees payed receipts, tickets etc etc must presented by the travelers to the staff as require by the local Laws/regulations.

I also had problems with you staff. I have been living abroad almost for 7 years and visiting nepal frequently but I was interrogated with nonsense question which were not relevant to the immigration rules or law. I was even asked whether I have a foreign girl friend ? How much do I earn ? Why do you come Nepal every year ? and also was asked money. Sir Ali ali hamile pani chiya pani khanu paryo Ni , yeso bichar garnus na ! I told the man about taking action then he twisted his statement…no noo I did not ask from you… I want to have tea myself…
but my time was wasted unnecessarily and you can imagine the condition of a passenger who was heading far leaving his family behind, mentally disturbed.
Although I refused to pay the bribe I have experienced it. In the above case the officials may be right but it is widely accepted(firmly) that people get problems in the departure desk( or inquiry room).
I hope this will not happen in the time to come.

Bina Giri Naotanki Exposed: Immigration Issue
Bina Giri fake story was published in http://www.mysansar.com, web link http://www.mysansar.com/temp/1392.html her story was totally fake and she tried to hide the real information. After a detail investigation, immiration found that she went Netherland to work as an Au-Pair (domestic child care). In 15th of April, 2009, she wanted to travel by RA 217, where Immigration staffs asked to obtain “Employment Permit” which was lacking in her paper. Actually the employment permit is imposed compulsory to all Nepalese who are going abroad for foreign employment, it is clearly mentioned in Immigration and foreign employment laws of Nepal. The Immigration office, departure desk had also handed over a letter of “Departure Refusal” to her accordance to the Immigration laws, where she had request to contact in Department of Foreign Employment and to obtain employment permit from there. Instantly, in front of Ms. Giri, the information was also shared and discussed about the issue with the Dutch Consular, labor desk staff, officer of the department of foreign employment and to the respective airlines staff that she has to obtain employment permit. To be honest, Immigration authority had tried to convince her well that she requires employment permit.
There was nothing happened as she claimed and described in her fake story, actually she was angry because she had to be back from airport. She had also tried to pressurize immigration employee from various political and administrative approach, though immigration employees were strict and they denied and refused her all approaches and illegal tools, in last she got angry and threatened to the immigration staff for wrongdoing and finally published a fake story in a blog to demoralize the immigration.
Latter, she obtained duly employment permit from the Department of Foreign Employment as suggested by Immigration authority on 16th of April, 2009, and also departed in the same day by IC 814 flight. Her employment sticker no is 61600, where anyone can learn about her reality from her file in Department of Foreign Employment. Immigration also obtained her departure card where she has herself mentioned that she is going to Netherland for foreign employment.
In here fake story, she did not talk anything about her lapses, she has pretended as she was travelling on tourist visa. Normally in tourist visa immigration asks for invitation/sponsor letter, money endorsement in passport along with valid visa. In work visa, immigration just keeps concern with employment permit sticker, valid passport along with valid visa. In employment visa no one will ask about sponsor, money endorsement etc. The Au-Pair is under clear definition of foreign employment, as mentioned in Foreign Employment laws of Nepal.
Now, the Immigration staff will stay no more silent and will start immediately legal action with the special coordination of the Immigration and police authority of Netherlands. Further, Immigration staff will also charge a case against her for such insulation and fake designed story that affected badly on the prestige and images of immigration as well as Government of Nepal in national and international arena.
A scanned copy of her departure refusal letter and a copy of departure card are attached herewith for your additional convenience.
