दिनभर काठमाडौंमा अराजक स्थिति रह्यो। सडक बालकहरु र उरण्ठेउला युवाहरु दिनभर सडकमा साइकल चढेर आउनेहरुलाई समेत तोडफोड गर्न तम्सिरहेको देखियो। म हिँडेको ठाउँमा यस्तै अराजकहरुको भीड बाहेक व्यवस्थित रुपमा विरोध प्रदर्शन गरिरहेकाहरु, विद्यार्थी कोही देखिनँ। दुई दिनसम्मको अस्तव्यस्ततापछि सरकारले साँझ मूल्यवृध्दि फिर्ता लिने घोषणा त गर्यो, तर आफूले चाहेको जस्तो अराजकता फैलाउन नपाएको रिसले नै होला, अहिले केही घण्टाअघि भिजिलान्तेहरुले ‘परेवा’ अनलाइनको कार्यालयमा आक्रमण गरे।
आक्रमणको प्रकृति र त्यसमा सहभागीहरु हेर्दा भिजिलान्ते र मण्डलेहरुको सुनियोजित आक्रमण भएको देखिएको साथीहरुले बताए। म भने दिनभरी त्यहाँ बसेर साँझतिर एकजना साथीसित फर्केको थिएँ। फर्केको केही बेरपछि नै आक्रमण भएको रहेछ।
लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रको पक्षमा समाचारहरु प्रकाशित हुने गरेकोले नै होला, उनीहरुले यसलाई तारो बनाएका। साथी कृष्ण ढुंगानाले मूल्यवृध्दि फिर्ता भनेर समाचार अपडेट गरेको केही मिनेटपछि नै आक्रमण भएको रहेछ। एक्कासी सुनियोजित रुपमा अगाडि बढेको भीडले परेवाको कार्यालय रहेको पुतलिसडकस्थित मार्कोपोलो होटलमा आक्रमण गरेका रहेछन्।
गार्डले मूलगेट लगाएपछि उनीहरुले ढुंगा हानेछन्। ढुंगा प्रहारबाट चार-पाँच वटा झ्यालका शिशा चकनाचुर भएका छन्। परेवा कार्यालयका सामानमा भने सामान्य क्षतिमात्र भएको रहेछ। आक्रमणकारीहरुलाई भाउ बढेको फिर्ता लिइसक्यो भनेर प्रहरीले सम्झाउँदा पनि उनीहरुले त्यसो भन्नेहरुमाथि प्रहार गरेका रहेछन्।
परेवामात्र हैन, सातदोबाटोमा फोटो पत्रकारहरुको समूहलाई पनि दुर्व्यवहार गरी क्यामेरा खोस्ने प्रयास भएको रहेछ। म अघि बाटोमा अराजक भीडको दृश्य खिच्दै गर्दा पनि त्यस्तै सोच्दै थिएँ- लोकतान्त्रिक आन्दोलनका क्रममा प्रहरीको लाठी खाइएला भन्ने डर हुन्थ्यो, अहिले भने भीडको मारमा परिएला भन्ने डर हुने भयो।
मैले देखेका भीड मध्ये कालिमाटी, शहीदगेट, न्युरोड र भोटाहिटी अनि रत्नपार्कका भीड ज्यादै अराजक थियो कालिमाटीमा स-साना सडक बालक ‘खाते’ हातमा ढुंगा बोक्दै साइकल लगायत सबै सवारी चालकलाई प्रहार गर्दै थिए। शहीदगेटमा युवाहरुको अराजक भीड थियो। न्युरोडमा त्यस्तै अराजक भीडले ट्राफिक चिह्न सबै भत्काउँदै अगाडि बढेका थिए। रत्नपार्कमा त्यस्तै भीड थियो। खाते बालकहरु क्याम्पसको गेटबाहिर बसी अोए विद्यार्थी नेताहरु, बाहिर निस्की भनी कराइरहेका देखिन्थे।
सरकारले आज मूल्यवृध्दि फिर्ता लिने निर्णय त गर्यो, तर यसले सरकार कति अपरिपक्व निर्णय गर्छ भन्ने देखाएको छ। मूल्यवृध्दि अवश्यंभावी छ भने यसरी फिर्ता लिइँदैन थियो। अब यसले मूल्य नबढाए पनि हुने रहेछ भन्ने सन्देश जानेछ। अनि अब मूल्य बढाउन सरकारलाई दाँतबाट पसिना चुहाउनु पर्नेछ। अर्कोतर्फ अराजकता मच्चाउन चाहनेहरुलाई भने सरकारको यो निर्णय निकै ठीक समयमा आएको छ। नत्र उनीहरुले यही बहानामा अझ ठूलै ध्वंस मच्चाउने ठूलै संभावना देखापरिसकेको थियो। आज लोकतन्त्र आएपछि पहिलो पल्ट काठमाडौं उपत्यका पूरै ठप्प बनेको थियो। एक किसिमले अघोषित उपत्यका बन्दको स्थिति थियो। त्यसमाथि साँझ निस्कने पत्रिका मेट्रो पोस्टले हचुवा तालमा दुई दिन नेपाल बन्दको घोषणा भनेर समेत बिना कुनै पुष्टि समाचार छापेका थिए।

Your write up and commetns are realistic and timely. As a common man, I find you are one who is writing the ground reality of the country and follow true democratic norms, not biased by one color. Let us hope that we won’t be Cambodia?
It would be nice if one realizes the imprtance of human life and language of cooperation and trust with respect to all human fellow. Let us hope that there wpn’t be plitics where torturing and killing human fellow is not considered as victory. Common men like us have suffered a lot. It is high time everyone who gives slogan that they are fighting for common people must give up such behaviour.

हो, १२ बुंदे सम्झौतामा हतियार नियन्त्रणको बारेमा कुनै कुरा उल्लेख गरिएको छैन, र त्यस् पस्चात गरिएका २५ र ८ बुंदे सम्झौताहरुमा पनि छैन । त्यसैले यो कुरालाई नयाँ सम्झौता गर्नुमा केही गल्ती देख्दिन म । तर हेर्नुस् , १२, २५ र ८ बुंदे सम्झौतामा उल्लेखित कुराहरुको उल्लंघन कस्ले बढी गरेको छ? नाबालिकहरुको समेत अपहरण जारी नै छ, जबर्जस्ती चन्दा सन्कलन त अझ तीब्र रुप लिँदैछ, जन अदालत पनि हटाइएको छैन, साधारण जनताको घर जग्गा फिर्ता गरिएको छैन – यो लिस्ट त शायद निकै लामो होला ।
गिरिजा मलाई पनि मन पर्दैन, तर तपाईं गिरिजाको ठाउँमा अर्को कुनै नाम दिन सक्नु हुन्छ? राजनीतिमा छलकपट हुनु कुनै अस्वभाविक वा अचम्म मान्नु पर्ने कुरा होइन जस्तो लाग्छ । माओवादीले पनि भने झैँ गरेका छैनन । तर फेरी त्यही प्रश्नमा आउँछौं – गिरिजा नभए को त? देश बिकास गर्न हटाउनु पर्ने ब्यक्तिहरु त थुप्रो छन शायद माओवादी नेताहरु पनि त्यस् लिस्टमा पर्न आउँछन तर के त्यसो गर्न सम्भव छ र? कहिले काहीँ समय र परिस्थिती अनुसार दुश्मनलाई पनि सहनु पर्छ, होइन र? गिरिजाले राजा राख्छु भन्दैमा राख्न सक्दैनन्, र जब SPA-M बार्ता सफल हुन्छ र संबिधानसभाको गठन हुन्छ, तब गिरिजालाई निकाल्दा पनि ढिलो हुने छैन । तर अहिले निकाले SPA-M कस्ले सम्हाल्न सक्छ? गाली र दोष दिन त सजिलो छ, alternative solution दिन सक्नु हुन्छ?
Sampada जि, कस्ले भन्यो कि अहिलेको सरकारलाई हतियार समर्पन गर्नु? कुरा UN को सुपरिवेक्षणमा हतियार बुझाउने कुरा छ । चाहेमा नागरिक समाज पनि involve हुन सक्छन । के जनतामा बिश्वास छैन? नागरिक समाजमा बिश्वास छैन? खाली बन्दुकमा मात्रै बिश्वास?? हतियार बोकेर राजनीति गर्ने के चलन हो? के जनतालाई यो मान्य हुन्छ भन्ठान्नु भाको छ? जबरजस्तीले देश चल्दैन । १० बर्षमा माओवादीले भन्दा साधारण जनताले बढी बलिदान दिनु परेको छ । उत्तर कोरिया, क्युबा, भियतनाम र चाइनालाई हेर्नुस्, राजनीति र “जन शक्ती” को नाममा कति जनताले बलिदान दिए – अन्तमा के पाए त? नेपाली माओवादी फरक छ भन्नु होला – तर बन्दुकको शक्ती जहिलेपनि एउटै हुन्छ, बोक्ने मान्छे जुनै देश वा जातिको नै होस् ।
I think, reducing the oil price by government is just covers the problem but it doesnot solve the problem. I think government should give education (advertisement) to people about why the gas price is going up. All of us who lives outside Nepal know the root cause but not the people in Nepal. So, it’s easy for us to write “they should do that, this and so on…” And as always, Mr. Bigshot (King)is always looking for opportinuties to make this democratic government unsuccessful.
Maobadi’s have to any vision and they have no any ideology. They kill cows in temples but one of the leaders( baburam) takes his parents to tirtha…they are the most selfish force…

I agree with khush. Maobadi’s are very irresponsible. When the government is becoming so flexible for peace, Maobadi’s are still killing people. How can Maobadi’s be trusted when they don’t have heart to feel others pain ? They kill people for mere some amount of rupees. They are dacoits. Government is trying to give these dacoits a name of political force for the welfare of people but maobadi’s are still behaving like ruthless dacoits…

Nepal is a country of choas, cursed by SATI.There are always people to create problems, acting as hooligans,involving in riots etc.These i ‘ve been observing since my childhood in Kathmandu.At times they were called as terrorist led by Babu raja, at times they some Mandales, now Khaate kids and Vigilaantes. I think all of them have something in common. And that is merely “Jangalipanaa”. Man, why are we so? Such an evil minded? We never construct anything rather we distruct only.
Why did government take such a frickle decision regarding fuel prices? Why can’t they stick with their decision firmly and fix up those vigilaantes permantly? Does this latest issue suggest that the Khaates and Vigilaantes are more effective than the great leaders of our country just for the sake of practising democratic rights?
What’s happening to us? We are just retarding.

It is really bad that Parewa office was attacked. In democracy it is always good to do peaceful demonstration and oppose the bad decision of the government or parties. But the way, things happens in our country, people are hell bent upon to destory everyhting. It is true that price of oil has ioncreased many folds in other countries and as we donot produce it, the price may be increased as alternative source of income like tourism in the country is not in good shape. What is important is why we donot try to have hydroelectricity with 1 ruppee per untis so that those who has access to electroticity can use it for light and cooking as well as we need buses and cars run by electricity if we want to change price hike. Irresposnible elements be that from any side look set to take advantage of this fluild situaiton. We must discourage this and ask government to be realistic and also more people oriented and must tall why they should increase the price and how people can be given relief. when price in petrlium increases, prices in all commodities increases.
We must reduce the use of motors more and increasee the use of cycles more except in long disitance travel.

Now, are we never going to increase the price of oil? It is unfair for people who do not own cars/motorbikes for Govt. to keep on subsidizing petrol/diesel for upper and higher middle classes.
People in villages do not even own kerosene cookers or heaters. Why should kerosene be subsidized for the middle or lower middle classes when majority of poor do not even have enough to eat?
The Govt. should not have taken back the price increases.
This sort of destructive mobs are very dangerous for the nation when it is crawling through all form of obstacle for peace process. I am lot will agree, it this sensitive time there are lot from old regime who are happy with the current change are looking for excuses. Government has to be decisive abot formig a more acountable government who will have proper control over army, security forces and hoolums and the worst of all the mandales and their naike. Definitely lot of government decision ad hoc. Do Nepalese people really believe in cycle of voilence. Who will suffer altimately by destructive behaviour?
we are really worry abut our country and young generation . we are going to back 100 years . vandalise is going to our daily business . it is so sad .
The immaturity of the government is tha main reason of this agitation. It is not working in the main area of maintaining the peace in the country but taking the decision without homeworking and which will really affect the regular life of the ordinary people. It should go to its first agenda and should not delay to maintain peace.

I agree with Khus. The goons involved in vandalism have no relationship with petrol prices. It did not look like those people would own cars or motorcycles. Cars and motorcycles are owned by richer people and it is wrong for the rest of the country to subsidize petrol costs for this small number of people.
I think these people are hired by mandales to create chaos and make this govt unsuccessful. It will not be sustainable to artificially make petrol costs cheap through subsidies when the whole world is paying higher price. If petrol/diesel prices are artificially cheaper in Nepal, half of of petrol/diesel from Nepal will end up in India through open border. Now do we feel smarter about subsidizing petrol/diesel costs to Indians. Please give some brain to our Nepalese brothers.
Crude Oil price is more than 75$ per barrel..So regardless of which government.. they will not have any option other than to raise the price.
Now knowingly this government has no option left other than to raise the price but it still revert back the price hike… ‘cmon its a fake. Accept the
fact that the price hike will happen and it should.
Past two days… is nothing but the valuable lession we all nepali learned from these “FATAHA” politicians .. both SPAZ and Maoists.
I hope this current unrest will be over soon and we all have better understanding on next oil price hike.

These agitating people must understand that Nepal has no control over the price of oil. Price of petroleum products has double in 3 years all over the world (except in Iraq where US is providing Iraqis at 1/20 of the cost to apease them!!)

when I saw the pictures you put here earlier, I’d commented that the people there didn’t seem to have any relation with the price of petroleum products. It was true. But I still believe it was the student unions which cleared the way for these goons to continue with the arson. Had they not started the whole arson, those ‘vigilantes’ and ‘mandaleys’ wouldn’t have had an open door to create more confusion. People should really think before they act, specially when demonstrating – are they creating loopholes for others??

Does he also want to attack Madhab Nepal?

Madhab Nepal is not a minister, the minister responsible for NOC is not from UML, then why?

Girija Prasad is not only to release conflicting statements. He should be responsible for what is going on.

I strongly condemn the attack on Parewa online by goons. It is hihgly deplorable to act such. We dont know who is behind, but it sounds that the vigilante means, the old regime is behind all to take advantage of the chaos.
Anyway, I wish my best luck for parewa for its corageous endevour in disseminating true information to all Nepalese within and abroad.
