२३७ वर्ष लामो शाह वंशको इतिहासमा नै सबैभन्दा कमजोर बनेका राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रको बर्थ डे यसै हप्ता परेको छ। दिन पनि फेरि त्यही उनलाई मन पर्ने कुख्यात बार शुक्रबार परेको रहेछ। यसपालि यो राजालाई के गिफ्ट दिने होला त हामीले ?
सक्रिय शासनकालमा भएको भए १ सयभन्दा बढी सदस्यीय जन्मोत्सव मूल समारोह समिति भन्छन् कि के भन्छन्, त्यो गठन भइसकेको हुन्थ्यो होला। अनि स्ट्रिट फेस्टिभलको तयारी भइरहेको हुन्थ्यो होला। त्यतिमात्र हो र, बर्थ डे कप भन्दै विभिन्न खेल पनि आयोजना भइसकेको हुन्थ्यो होला।
तर यसपालि त्यस्तो भएको छैन। शुन्य छ चारैतिर। राजा भूतमहल नारायणहिटीमा एक्लो परेजस्तै बेवास्तामा परेको छ उनको जन्मदिन। यस पटकको जन्मदिनमा कुनै पनि अौपचारिक कार्यक्रम हुने कमसेकम मैले थाहा पाएको छैन।
जनआन्दोलनले घुँडा टेक्न बाध्य बनाएको राजालाई यस पटक के गिफ्ट दिने त नेपाली जनताले ? मलाई लाग्छ यसपालि उनलाई एउटा सांकेतिक गिफ्ट दिनुपर्छ- त्यो हो, परम्परादेखि दिइँदै आएको उनको जन्मदिनको अवसरको सार्वजनिक विदा कटौति।
उनको जन्मदिन नितान्त उनको निजी जन्मदिन हो। हामी नागरिकहरुले उनको जन्मदिनको खुसियाली मनाउनु पर्ने कुनै कारण छैन। उनले हाम्रा लागि केही राम्रा काम गरेको भए त हुन्थ्यो, तर इतिहासमा नै सर्वाधिक अलोकप्रिय भइसकेका राजाको जन्मदिनको खुसियाली मनाउन विदा मनाइराख्नु पर्ने कुनै जरुरी छैन। उनको जन्मदिन हो, उनी नै खुसियाली मनाउन्। उनको परिवारले खुसी मनाउन्। हामीले आफ्नो दैनन्दिनको कार्य रोकेर विदामा बस्न जरुरी छैन।
त्यसै पनि नेपालमा चाहिने भन्दा धेरै विदा छन्। यो पनि एउटा त्यस्तै विदा हो। संविधान सभामा राजा राख्ने निर्णय भयो भने राष्ट्रप्रमुखको जन्मदिनको विदा राख्नु परे राखौंला तर अहिलेको संक्रमण कालमा यो राजाको जन्मदिनको विदा दिइराख्नु जरुरी छैन।
यदि कुनै कर्मचारीलाई विदा कटौति भएकोमा दुःख लागेको छ भने सोच्नुस् तपाईँले जेठ ५ गते एउटा एक्स्ट्रा विदा पाइसक्नुभएको छ। प्रतिनिधि सभा घोषणापत्र पारित भएको खुसियालीमा त्यो दिन विदा दिइएको थियो। त्यसैले विदाको हिसाब बराबर।
यसैबीच, मैले पाएको जानकारी अनुसार सरकारले यस पटक राजाको जन्मदिनमा विदा नदिने बारेमा विचार गरिरहेको छ। अौपचारिक घोषणा भने हुन बाँकी छ।

कानून, न्याय तथा संसदीय व्यवस्था मन्त्री नरेन्द्र बिक्रम नेम्बाङले जसरी भएपनि राजाको सम्पत्ति सार्वजनिक गरेरै छाड्ने बताउनुभएको छ ।
उहाँले सार्वजनिक लेखा समितिको पत्र मन्त्रिपरिषद्मा पुग्नासाथ त्यसको प्रक्रिया सुरु हुने बताउनुभयो ।
शनिवार राजधानीमा आयोजित एक कार्यक्रममा बेल्दै नेम्बाङले राजाले विदेशमा राखेको सम्पत्ति पनि खोजिनिती गरिने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गर्नुभयो।
नेपाली कांग्रेसका नेता नरहरि आचार्यले राजाको सम्पत्ति छानबिन गरेर मात्र नपुग्ने बताउँदै राजाको सम्पत्ति राष्ट्रियकरण गर्नुपर्ने बताउनुभयो । उहाँले राजाको विदेशमा रहेको सम्पत्तिलाई सरकारले खोजबिन गरी सार्वजनिक गर्नुपर्ने बताउनुभयो ।
उहाँले त्यसका लागि सार्वजनिक लेखा समितिले मात्र नभएर प्रतिनिधिसभाको बैठकले नै संसदीय समिति बनाउनुपर्ने र कुटनीतिक पहल थाल्नुपर्नेमा जोड दिनुभयो ।
प्रतिनिधिसभा सार्वजनिक लेखा समितिका अध्यक्ष चित्रबहादुर के.सी.ले राजाको सम्पत्ति जहाँ भएपनि सार्वजनिक गरेरै छाड्ने प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त गर्नुभयो ।
उहाँले केही दिनअघि सरकारलाई १५ दिनको म्याद दिएर राजाको सम्पत्तिको बारेमा जानकारी दिन पत्र पठाइएको जानकारी पनि दिनुभयो ।
अध्यक्ष के.सी.ले राजाले सम्पति विवरण नबुझाए समितिको बैठकमा राजालाई पनि विवरणसहित बोलाउन सकिने बताउनुभयो ।
‘२ सय ३७ वर्ष पुरानो राजसंस्थालाई घुँडा टेकाउन सकिन्छ भने राजालाई लेखा समितिमा बोलाउन किन सकिदैन -‘- के.सी.ले भन्नुभयो- ‘त्यसका लागि आवश्यक परे विदेशी विज्ञलाई पनि बोलाउन सकिन्छ ।’

The US ambasador has been speaking against the wish of Nepali people since long. He was pressurising SPA leaders to shake hands with the autocratic/military dictetor Gyanendra and compromise with the old regime of monarchy in Nepal.
This is a true fact that whereever the Americans have entered, problems are escalating rather than solving. Why does the US always support the feudal sturcture in the developing or under deveolped countries?
Nepalese people should strongly condemn such ill-natured US policy. THe US administration should stop enterfaring the internal matter in Nepal. Nepali people will decide about their future, but not by the Americans.

As mentioned by Bijaya Lama, I agree with him and assert that our ill-minded politicians who brought our country to this situation should be lessioned not to repeat the same thing for the sake of the“chair of Power”. I would be happy if ill acts of Crown Prince are taken into account and start investigation.
There are many more things to investigate. In addition to the King,his surroundings are the also stimulators and false-informaions suppliers, based on which all the kings to date reacted to the country. We people are also responsible for such things to have been done by the king and his pets. Some of the pets are still in the cabinet. How can we trust them?
I don`t see Nepal`s future unless present ill-minded leaders are replaced by young and energetic educated Nepalese.

Actually, I want to celebrate all Nepali’s birthday so that i get holiday (7 days in a week and 365 days in year). Aaha kya majja office janai naparne.
Contrary to what our evil politicians would like to us believe, king is not the root cause of present dire situation in Nepal. After 2046, king Birendra was praised as a model constitutional monarch, even by these same politicians. Deuba created a constitutional crisis by asking king Gyanendra to extend his tenure by another 14 months. Deuba was expelled from his own party, he had dissolved the parliament and now wanted extra 14 months to rule. No head of the state would have been able to fulfill that demand in such a situation. After that we all know how situation unfolded…SPAM leaders were successful in portaying the king as a ruthless despot, despite his efforts to hold elections. Now look and behold, all SPAM leaders suddenly became Mahan and spotless. Not only they are obsolved of all the crimes they committed in last 15 years, they now have unrestrained power to rule Nepal, undefinitely!
Blaming the king for all the ills of Nepal may sound cool and easy thing to do, but it will lead us nowhere. Unless everybody owns his mistake and vows not to repeat the same mistake, Nepal’s problem will not be solved.

कुनै समय लोकतन्त्र बोल्दामात्र ज्यान जाने डर थियो अहिले राजतन्त्र बोल्नेहरुको लागि ज्यस्तै भएको होला । प्रसंग जन्म दिनको आफ्नो पुजा आफै गरे हुन्छ अरु कोही पुजा गर्ने छन् भने लुकेर गर्नुको कुनै अर्थ रहदैन । जन्मदिन कसैले मनाउन वा नमनाउन् यसले कुनै अर्थ राख्दैन र कसैलाई चासो खाँचो पनि छैन । अव त चासो खाँचो भनेको राजाको सम्पत्ति प्रति हो । ज्ञानेन्द्र राजा हुनु पूर्व उनको के कस्तो अवस्थामा के कति धन सम्पत्ति थियो राजगद्दि प्राप्त गरिसकेपछि के कस्तो अवस्था छ र विस्रनै नहुने र खोजीगर्नै पर्ने विरेन्द्रको बंश नाश भए पस्चात ज्ञानेन्द्रको आर्थिक अवस्थाले राजा विरेन्द्रको बंश नाश हुनु पछाडीको रहस्य पनि खुल्न सक्ला अर्थात तत्काल राजपरिवारको बंश सखाप भए पछिको अपुताली कसले खाने भनेर कहि कतै नियम कानूनमा उल्लेख छ छैन अथवा तत्कालको समयमा मुलुकी ऐन वा सासित जनतालाईमात्र प्रयोग गर्ने कानून राजालाई लगाउन मिल्छ मिल्दैन कि अपुताली खान मात्र नियमका कुरा खोज्ने र अन्य कुरामा राजालाई कानून नलाग्ने हो कि के हुदो रहेछ यस किसिमको जटिल विषयमा अनुसन्धान गर्ने भनेर आईरहेका कुराहरु प्रति चासो दिएर खोज्न र निकाल्न दवाव दिने तर्फ लाग्नु सान्दर्भिक होला जस्तो मलाई लागेको छ जन चासो कुन कुरामा ध्यान केन्द्रित गर्ने भन्ने प्राथमिकताको कुरा तर्फ पनि जनताले ध्यान दिन पर्ने हुन्छ ।

हो , जनताको राजा हुन नसक्ने निरंकूश चरित्र बोकका ज्ञानेन्द्रको जयजयकार गरी जन्मदिवस मनाउनु पर्ने कसैलाई कुनै दरकार छैन । हिजो आफ्नो सर्वसत्तावादी दिनमा जबर्जस्ति ल्याइएका मान्छेहरुको फर्जि भीड जुटाएर महाराजकी जय , भन्ने रहर कुनै स्वाभिमानी नेपालीलाई थिएन। काम र व्यवहारले हैन पद ओगटेका भरमा नै पूजिन खोज्ने राजषी ठाँटका ज्ञानेन्द्र जस्ता बडे राजा र थु्प्रै छोटे राजाहरुको बिगबिगी नेपाली जीवनको शास्वत चरित्र हो ।
जहाँ सम्म राजाको व्यक्तिगत सम्पत्तिको कुरा छ , यदि सच्चा देशप्रेमी राजाहरु हुन भने उनीहरुको लागि देश र देशवासीबाट प्राप्त माया , श्रद्धा र सम्पूर्ण देश नै उनीहरुको लागि सबैभन्दा ठूलो सम्पत्ति हुनु पर्ने हो , तर नेपाली राजाहरुमा देश प्रतिको त्यो माया कतै देखा परेको उदाहरण देखिँदैन, चाहे ती महेन्द्र , त्रिभूवन वा विरेन्द्र नै किन नहुन । बरू राणाहरुले त देशभित्र नै ठूला ठूला दरवार , महल वा स्मारकहरू बनाएर देसभित्रको सम्पत्तिलाई भित्रै राख्नुपर्छ भन्ने विचारलाई आत्मसात गरेका थिए र जुन कुरामा कुरा चन्द्र शमशेर पछि आएर विस्तारै राणाभित्रैको कचिंगलले गर्दा परिवर्तन भई नेपालको धन भारत तिर लगिन थालियो । तर इतिहास साक्षि छ , नेपाली राजाहरुले सम्पत्तिको यस मामिलामा राणाहरु जत्ति पनि विवेकको प्रदर्शन गरेका छैनन । ऊनिहरुका सम्पत्ति विवरणहरु कहिले पम्फा देवी र कहिले ज्ञानेन्द्र शाहका स्वीस खाताका हल्ला र कहानी बनेर नेपाली जनमानसमा छरिन्छन। राज विरेन्द्रको वंश विनास पछि अपुताली सम्हालेका वर्तमान राजामा सम्पत्ति लोभको आकांक्षा अत्यन्त उच्छ खालको देखिन्छ । किनभने ऊनले एकातिर विरन्द्रको सम्पत्तिलाई राष्ट्रियकरण गरी एउटा कल्याणकारी ट्रष्को जिम्मा लगाउन चाहेनन बरु आफ्नो सर्वसत्तावादी कार्यकालमा दरवारको बजेट ६ गूणा भन्दा बढी बढाएर लोभ देखाए । अर्कोतिर मेलम्चि योजनामा आँखा गाडेर कमिशन खेलको भित्र सम्म पसी दूनो सोझ्याउने कार्यले उनको समयमा पहिलो प्रार्थामिकता प्राप्त गर्यो । यो लोभी नेपाली राजतन्त्रका सबैभन्दा लोभी राजा भने ज्ञानेन्द्र नै देखा परे , सायद उनी धनको छेलोखेलो रहेने व्यापारिक पृष्ठभूमीबाट राजा हुन आई पुगेर पनि यसो भएको होला।
तर राजालाई ऊनको जन्म दिनको सन्दर्भमा यति धेरै कुरा ले सम्मान गरे पनि , हाम्रा पञ्चहरु , राजनैतिक पार्टिका नेताहरु देखि माओवादी सम्मले बिभिन्न शैलिबाट जनता र देशलाई दोहन गरेको रकमको सहि सदूपयोग भएको छ भन्ने परदर्शी फेरिस्त भने कतै प्रदर्शन गरका बने छैनन्। नेपालको सबैभन्दा ठूलो कमजोडि सीमित राष्ट्रीय सम्पदा र सम्पत्तिको सिमितहरले गरिरहेको दूरूपयोग र रजाईँ हो र यसलाई नियन्त्रण गर्न सक्नु नै नेपालको लागि सबैभन्दा ठूलो राष्ट्रीय क्रान्ति हुन सक्छ ।
तर आँफूले गर्दा जे पनि ठीक अरूले मात्र गल्ति गरिरहेको देख्ने राजनैतिक आग्रहको चस्मा लगाएका नेपाली जनता देखि नेता सम्मको व्यवहारमा पूर्वाग्रहको यो सीमा भन्दा माथि उठी देशकालागि विचार, जीवन र आदर्श अर्पण गर्ने महान व्यवहार मन , वचन र कर्ममा देखिने कहिले होला त्यही सोचेर मन उद्दिग्न बनिरहन्छ।
