एपेन्डिसाइट (नाम यस्तो हो जस्तो लाग्छ, नभए सच्याउनुस् है!) भन्ने अंग शरीरमा नभए पनि मानिस बाँच्न सक्छ रे काटेर फ्याँकिदियो भने पनि कुनै हाम्रो शरीरमा कुनै पनि असर गर्दैन रे। तर यदि केही गरी त्यो फुट्यो भने चाहिँ केही घण्टाभित्र अपरेशन गरेन भने ज्यानै जान्छ रे। शान्ति वार्ता चलिरहँदा मानिसको शरीरमा हुने त्यो काम नलाग्ने अंग जस्तै एमाले नामधारी कम्युनिष्ट पार्टी पनि त्यस्तै भएको छ।
काँग्रेसभन्दा ‘प्रजातन्त्रवादी’ र माअोवादीभन्दा ‘क्रान्तिकारी’ देखिने होडमा रहेको बिचरा एमाले शान्तिवार्तापछि आफ्नो छुट्टै अस्तित्वका लागि राजतन्त्रको बारेमा जनमत संग्रहबाट निर्णय गर्नुपर्दछ भनेर माग अघि सारेको हुनुपर्दछ।
मजस्तो बबुरोले एक मनले सोच्दा त्यसका लागि एमालेले राजतन्त्रको बारेमा फैसला गर्न जनमत संग्रहको ल्याएको हो जस्तो लाग्छ। हुन त म एमालेको प्रस्तावको पक्षमा छु- जनताले नै राजालाई राख्ने नराख्ने भन्ने कुरा फैसला गर्नु पाउनु पर्दछ। सामन्तवादको केन्द्रको रुपमा रहेको राजतन्त्रको अन्त्य गर्नुपर्छ भन्ने माअोवादीको क्रान्तिकारी मागलाई प्रजातान्त्रिक विधि जनमत संग्रहबाट पूरा गराउने योजना। एकैतिरले दुई शिकार गर्ने योजनामा थियो एमाले।
तर के गर्नु, जनमत संग्रहमा ग्रिनसिग्नल देखाउने माअोवादीले गिरिजाको मागमा आफूलाई लगेपछि शान्ति प्रक्रियामा एमाले पेन्डुलम भएको छ। यता न उता। २०५१ को मध्यावधि चुनावमा देशकै सबैभन्दा ठूलो दल भएको एमालेको शान्तिप्रक्रियामा भूमिका यस्तोसँग माइनस होला भनेर कसैले सोचेका थिएनन् होला। बिचरा एमाले पनि के गरोस् परिबन्दमा परेको छ। कुरा सुनेनन् भनेर वार्तामा बस्दिनँ भनेर हिँडे पनि शान्तिविरोधी देखिने। बसौं भने पनि एउटै माग पनि पूरा नहुने।
फेरि सबैभन्दा दुःख शाही सरकारका पालमा पाउने पनि यही एमाले नै हो। यसकै महासचिवलाई अरु नेताहरुभन्दा बढी नजरबन्दमा राखेकै हो। शहीदहरुको तथ्याङ्क हेर्ने हो भने अरु पार्टीका भन्दा बढी एमाले कै कार्यकर्ता देखिन्छन्। तर अहिले आएर भने बिचरा एमालेको हैसियत बिजुक्छेको नेमकिपाको जस्तो छ। केही माग पनि पूरा नहुने।
फेरि एमालेले कम द्वैध चरित्र देखाउने गर्दैन। देउवासँग घाँटी जोडेर प्रतिगमन सच्चियो भन्दै सरकारमा जाने यही एमाले थियो। त्यसकै कारण हो कि, अहिले सरकारमा एउटै पनि महत्त्वपूर्ण मन्त्रालय पाउन सकेका छैनन् उनीहरुले। उपप्रमसम्म बल्लबल्ल पाएका थिए। तर जनमोर्चाले पनि उपप्रम पाइहाल्यो।
गृह पनि पाएन, रक्षा पनि पाएन, अर्थ पनि पाएन र सञ्चार पनि पाएन। बिचरा एमाले, सात दलको एकता टुट्छ भन्दै चुप बस्न बाध्य थियो। अहिले पनि एमालेको एउटै माग पूरा भएको छैन। जनमत संग्रहको त भइहाल्यो। संविधान सभामा समानुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्व अनुसार निर्वाचन हुनुपर्छ भन्ने एमालेको मागमा सुरुमा माअोवादीले सहमति जनाएको थियो। तर अहँ, गिरिजा र प्रचण्डले सुटुक्क गिरिजा कै अडान प्रत्यक्ष प्रणालीलाई सदर गरेपछि एमालेको माग बदर। प्रत्यक्ष प्रणाली अनुसार संविधान सभाको निर्वाचन भयो भने एमाले र माअोवादीको मत जुधेर कमजोर हुने र काँग्रेस भने देउवा काँग्रेससहित एकीकरण भएर बहुमत ल्याउने चाल थाहा पाईपाई पनि चुप बस्न बाध्य छ एमाले।
एमाले र माअोवादीबीच हुने तनाव त अहिले नै देखिसकिएको छ। आजै मात्र पनि आरआर क्याम्पसमा अखिल क्रान्तिकारी र एमाले अखिल बीच भएको भिडन्तले नै भविष्यमा संविधान सभाको निर्वाचनमा हुने भिडन्तको पूर्वाभास गराउँछ, कि कसो ?

UML and Future !!!
We love UML more than congress but UML does not work as per our aspiration so we condem it much more than congress. This is natural. UML never had a concrete view on any situation. It always adopted wait and see approach. We know how UML is divided and they published most corrupted people’s list including Bamdev and, now Bamdev is back, is most revolutionary leader. It was a dirty game. In that context UML have won congress in dirty game. UML is communist in mask but similar to congress in essence. This dichotomy has made UML difficult. Neither it can abandon communist slogan(to save image in public or party cadre)nor it can adopt communist/near communist ideals(it has deviated from that: its not bad but it can’t declare so).
As one commentator mentioned there will be natural polarization and unity among the centrist or pro king force but acrimony amongst the leftist. The key is with the UML. Whatever group is belongs will win. It is better that UML have alliance with Maoist,or leftist and work together for republican. It can gain its lost cadre as well as huge support. Being republican is not bad in the eye of west. Democratic republic is the slogan of the day. It’s best opportunity for UML to use this opportunity. If UML ally with centrist group then it’s future is uncertain because the credit will be taken by others. Some people may see some risk allying with maoist but UML can gain more and established as an strong power in future. That is for sure. If the UML want to have seperate identity. It will weaken and termintate repulican movement.
Whatever MAOIST say or think they will not get required majority in any election in present situation if all the political party congress, UML, … take part in election. It will be good from the point of power balance but we will be delaying republican agend for next time.
The problem with the COMMUNIST is: They talk more and do less, and sometimes do opposite.
The main issue for the public is not who wins or losses but what they will do. whoever control the power, can they make differce or just repeat the same history? Nobody is assured.
That is what I think. Peole may have differnt view. Please comment.

Having read Mani Dahal’s article it seems like in his opinion, that party (like NC) is great, because it can impose its agenda upon the others, no matter be it good or bad. All the more, it is great just because it can take more from the other than can give. Whrease, the need of the day is to give more to the others, be more flexible and accept other agenda too if they help establish a lasting peace in the country. And that is what UML is exactly doing. In the contemporary Nepal, the sacrifices that UML is doing for the cause of peace and for the ongoing agreement to make a historically successful events, the history will make right evaluation,not a handful of so called analyst like Mani Dahal with’Kangresi’or ‘Mandale’ mindset, whose ultimate goal is to serve their reverend master Gyanendra by this way or that way.
Why is someone so against UML? All parties have faults in Nepal, but Nepali Congress and GP Koirala are the ones to be blamed most for the failures during the priod 2047 till the time king took power.

WOW what a great analysis , but you know why UML is like this? i think because of lack of proper leadership, which is the main thing, otherwise that party have very visionary workers and they are good than Congress workers and far better than maoist workers. I remember Madan Bhandari and Great Nepal, but all dreams does not comes to be true, he is no more and that party could not have someone like that who could give some initiative and work for collective purpose. Hopefully they will sack Madav Nepal sooner and find some new and good leader otherwise I am definately surely UML will go into deep crisis seeking its position in active political mainstream of Nepal.

I don’t agree with your analysis. Time will show importance of JANAMAT SANGRAHA. Every body know recently parliament has endorsed many bills according to UML’s 27 points which they raised these issue at 2047 constitution. At that time NC and others resejected now it comes true.
Other hand is, Maoist support all Girija’s agenda other than arm management. They must have made deal on it.
Girija congress is the one who mainly is resposible for bringing Nepal into this misery. Girija’s anti-communist action led the Nepalese to suffer so much. when UML protested misdeeds of NC and suggested for reform, he branded, UML as radical communists. If they were shoftened their stand then he branded them as right wing leaning opportunists. There is some jeolous group, that attacks UML from all direction i.e. whatever it does. In the summit meeting all the parties had their agendas, meeting is meant for putting one’s views and accepting the views in a democratic ways.Some of these Guys never mentioned about other parties but only spoke against UML telling that UML created this/that BAKHEDA. when they settled the issues then, the same group says, UML has no stand, it is like an appendix. What about other parties for xample Girija and NCD,they were telling about Maoist must not be included in the govt until they disarm and there must be a double lock system. There should be direct election.Why they raised these isuues and compromised for single lock. Why they compromise for mixed represantation. So this how dispute is settled. So in my opinion UML is doing the right thing. In my opinion, UML is pragmatic, flexible and visionary and future party of Nepal.It has relatively honest and capable leaders. Survey done by National democratic institute and survey done for AC Nilsson by greenburg Rosener Research showed that UML is the future party of Nepal. Trust me, it has the best organisational net work in Nepal compared to other parties. Please wait, you will see that in CA election.

I do not agree with the article about UML. Congress has primeminister, Maoist has Banduk. Therefore Uml has only chance to rise the question but not to solving position. Therefore That happened to UML. Although I am not member of UML but I support their movement in Nepal.

It appears Mani Dahal is already starting campaign slogans for the election. Your article seems to put the UML and Maoist in a war footing. If UML and Maoists make any understanding for the future election the Congress and the Royalists stands no chance. Even though the Congress is the oldest and most experienced party their mistakes and blunders have put themselves down in the people’s eye. The only way for the Congress to win the election is to let the UML and the Maoist drift away from each other. But the big question is will the Nepali Congress and The Royalists achieve in creating that rift.
You described the reality in right way. May god save this party from going down to ground. I forgot that they donot trust on god.Anyway, no other than god can save this dual party.
Girija is a very clever Budho Bahun!Means, he has lots of “wisdom” earned from his 85/86 years of experience! Look at “Kishun ji’s Haalat now. He gave up for Girija for good. History has already proved that he is an “experienced Kheladi, others are kachha Kheladi”.
My friends, believe me he will create a situation in near future that the Maoists and UML will fight each other and Nepali Congress will have landslide victory in the Constituent Assembly election. Then, Girija will pass the agenda of “Ceremonial King” from the first meeting of Constituen Assembly.
On the one hand people will be confused with several Communist party flags with “Sickle and Hammer” and be panicking which is “Right Communist”? On the other hand, RPP/Mandale will support Girija to save the king.
Girija knows the British policy “Divide and Rule”!He will have full support from India, USA, and other countries who want to “save the king” not for the sake of king but to dismantle the machinaries of communist parties in Nepal especially UML and Maoist.
This is my brief analysis. What do you guys think?

i agree with most of what mani has said. but i don’t think UML is apendix (or apendicite). i loved uml and i had high hopes but no more. you know what? The emale doesnt have confidence in itself. thats their problem. the centre left party of the past today is in the centre right. there is still room for liberal leftism. and the uml had the potential to capitalize it. but alas! they’re becoming such jokers with supersize egos.
