केही अघि मैले राजा चाहिन्छ र राजा चाहिँदैन भन्ने दुई थरि विचारधारा भएका एक वृध्द र एक किशोरीको अडियो ब्लग प्रस्तुत गरेको थिएँ। त्यसलाई धेरैले मन पराइदिनुभयो। यी शब्द लेखिँदासम्म त्यो फाइललाई ४ हजार पटक सुनिसकिएको छ। आज मैले सर्लाहीको सागरनाथमा रेकर्ड गरिएको त्यही अडियो ब्लगको दोस्रो भाग प्रस्तुत गर्न लाग्दैछु। सुन्नलाई भित्र आउनुहोला। पहिलो भाग सुन्ने भए यहाँ जानुहोला।

  10. Today,if there is existance of king, he can be a stone just like that in a tampple as a symbol of god. In this age, nobody can be a king among the millions of people to rule them.There should be powerful Constitution(Laws)as a king to rule the peoples of a Nations.

  12. The girl seems to be empty minded. What a silly coversation from her part.She is no match as compared to the old man.
    I suggest her to not to debate in such a sensitive subject.I really hated the way she was babbling and giggling throughout the conversation.Very poorly managed audio recording.

  14. I agree with grandpa Dilli Raman Dahal when he tells the teenage girl that she has “seen nothing” as to what the Kings have been doing unto Nepali people. He mentions Mahendra’s “corruption” in building the Mahendra Highway. I agree with him when he says we, as the new generation, have “seen nothing”. The 68 year old, obviously, has lived through at least 4 kings, and knows more than we do about the monarchial institution. I think we are lucky to have people like Mr. Dahal, who possess the knowledge and wisdom to pass over to our generation. The discussion between the OLD and the TEEN were worth listening, and interesting.

    Let us hope and pray that these true voices will be transcribed into the new constitution next year.

  17. Bring more coversation like this – very healthy discussion. More and more Civil Society needs to bring this open debate so that people need to put pros and cons. For me, there should not be no Royal White Elephant need in this country. Now the debate should be for “Communist Republic” or “Democratic Republic”, republic is a must. King need to go away !

    If the debate is to preserve historical aspect of kingdom, I would rather put “Living Goddess Kumari” in the palaca and make it a symbolic representation of the unity. Even Kings in Nepal were observing Kumari pooja anyway so Kumari will be our national living symbol. This will preserve the humanity, Kumari – Pratha, Newari – Janajati respect and at the same time – give a break to the Shah dynasty from the Nepali-Poitical future.

  18. Thanks for making this second part discussion available. Buda baa speaks the reaility of Nepal. Till monarchy is thrown out, we will not have a functioning democracy as history has taught us many times in the past.

  19. हुन त मलाइ पहिले पनि भन मन लागेको हो बहसको विषय ठिक भएन भनेर तर भनिन । यो प्रसंग दोहोरिएकाले भन्नै पर्यो जस्तो लागेको छ ।

    राजा होइन राजतन्त्रबारे बहस हुनु पर्ने हो । राजाका रूपमा बिरेन्द्र या महेन्द्र या ग्यानेन्द्र कसैलाइ राम्रो नराम्रो लाग्न सक्छ । तर समग्रमा राजतन्त्रको कुरा गर्दा हामी सिस्टमको कुरा गरिरहेका हुन्छौँ । र त्यो नै उपयुक्त हो भन्ने म ठान्छु । हामीले सिस्टम राम्रो गर्न सक्यौँ भने भोलि जो आए पनि धेरै तलमाथि हुन्न । तर ब्यक्ति केन्द्रमा राखिदा तेस्लै धेरै कुरा तलमाथि पार्छ ।

    व्यक्तिलाइ होइन विधिलाइ, नेता होइन नीतिलाइ केन्द्रमा राख्ने हो भने केही होला, होइन भने हाम्रो बहस गिरिजाको अग्लाइ, माधवको जुँगा, प्रचण्डको हेयरस्टायल या ‘रोलेक्स’ ग्यानेको मुन्टो, इत्यादि मै रूमलिनेछ । र धेरैको कमेन्ट जुन जोगी आए पनि कानै चिरेका भन्ने तर्फ जानेछ ।
