(यस लेखको आशय विदेशिनु भएका सबै महानुभावहरूको चित्त दु:खाउने होइन। यो नेपालमा विस्तारै विकसित शान्तिप्रकृया भाँड्न उद्दत नेपालभित्रका केही नेपाली तथा केही ‘भगौडा’ नेपालीहरूतर्फ मात्र केन्द्रित छ।)
नेपाली जनताले निकास खोजिरहेका छन् र देश तथा राजनीति यसै दिशातर्फ अगाडि पनि बढिरहेको छ तर, नेपाल भित्र रहेका तथा केही नेपाली ‘भगौडा’हरूलाई यो चित्त बुझिरहेको छैन। उनीहरूलाई नेपाली जनता अझ मरे हुन्थ्यो भन्ने लागिरहेको छ। शायद बाबु-बाजेदेखि जनताको रगतमा होली खेल्ने बानी लागेकाहरूलाई वर्तमान शान्ति मन परेको छैन। जनताको रगत-पसिना बगेको नदेखेसम्म उनीहरूलाई खाएको पच्दैन र निद्रा लाग्दैन होला त्यसैले त जनताले शान्तिको अनुभव गरेको उनीहरूलाई मन परिरहेको छैन र जनताको रगत नबगेकोमा उनीहरूमा छटपटि बढेकोछ तथा नेपाली जनताले केही हदसम्म पाएको सुख-शान्तिसँग चिढिएका छन्।
मानिसहरू राष्ट्रियताका ठूला-ठूला कुरा गर्छन्। अझ विदेशतिर भासिनेहरू त आफूभन्दा ठूलो राष्ट्रवादी कोही नभएको दावी गर्छन्। अमेरिका वा बेलायत बस्नेहरू उनीहरूभन्दा ठूला प्रजातन्त्रवादी कोही नभएको दाबी गर्छन्। मानौं, उनीहरू बुस वा ब्लेयरका खाँटी प्रतिनिधि नै हुन्। कोरिया वा इराकको जस्तो जनतालाई मारेर मात्र बच्ने राष्ट्रियता हामीलाई चाहिएको छैन। बुसले भनेजस्तै वा नेपालबाट भागेका भगुवाहरूको जमातले खोजे जस्तै जनता मर्ने प्रजातन्त्र पनि हामीलाई चाहिएको हैन। हामीलाई जनता नमर्ने र नमारिने प्रजातन्त्र चाहिएको छ, राष्ट्रियता चाहिएको छ। जनता नभएको देशको कुनै अर्थ छैन। राष्ट्रियता भनेको त्यो देशको ‘जनता’ हो। जनता सुरक्षित वा सुखी छन् भने त्यहाँको राष्ट्रियता बलियो छ र त्यहाँ राज्यको अस्तित्व रहेछ भनेर मान्नु पर्छ। कुनै सिमाना वा राजनीतिक विभाजनले मात्र राष्ट्रियताको निर्धारण गर्दैन। यदि जनता नै असुरक्षित (कानुनी तथा अन्य तवरले) छन् र खाने, लाउने तथा बस्ने आधारभुत आवश्यकताबाट बञ्चित छन् भने त्यहाँ राष्ट्रियताको कुनै अर्थ छैन। त्यहाँ प्रजातन्त्रको कुनै अर्थ छैन। दशौंलाख नेपालीहरू भारत तथा अरब मुलुकमा जानुभएको छ। वहाँहरू मध्ये अधिकांश वाध्यताले विदेशिनु भएको छ। यसरी वाध्यतावश रोजी-रोटीका लागि विदेशीनीहरूको राष्ट्रियतामाथि शंका गर्नु हुँदैन तर कुनै वाध्यता विना विदेशिने र १२ वर्ष पछि नेपाली जनताले पाएको केही सुखद क्षणलाई भाँड्न तत्पर हुनेहरूको राष्ट्रियतामाथि भने शंका गर्नु नै पर्छ र जनता मार्न अमेरिकी वा वेलायती सरकारलाई उक्साउनेहरूलाई ‘राष्ट्रघाती’ नै भन्नुपर्छ।
मलाई लाग्छ नेपालमै जन्मे पनि विदेश बसेर राष्ट्रवादी वा प्रजातन्त्रवादी भई टोपल्नेहरू भन्दा मेरो आमालाई गोली लाग्दा पानी दिने र हस्पिटल पुर्याउने विदेशी नागरिकहरू मेरा नजिकका र मेरा आफन्त हुन्। कम्तिमा उनीहरूले मानवीयता बुझेका छन्, हामीहरूको पिडा देखेका छन् र हामीहरूको घाउमा मल्हम लगाएका छन्। दाजु-भाइ मारिदाँ सँगै बसेर रोइदिने, मलामी गइदिने तथा काजकृया गर्दा सघाइदिने नै मेरा लागि आफन्त हुन् र उनीहरूले नै नेपाल बुझेका छन् र युद्धको त्रासदी बुझेका छन्। त्यसैले विदेश बसेर युद्धका बेला नेपाली जनतालाई गाली गर्नेहरू भन्दा गाउँमा भोकमरि लाग्दा बम, बारूद र गोलीको पर्वाह नगरी चिउरा, भुजा, भेली, फलफुल तथा सब्जी पुर्याइदिने मेरा मधेशका दाजुहरू नै मेरा लागि प्रिय छन्, मेरा आफन्त हुन् र वास्तविक नेपाली हुन् वा गोली लागेर मेरा दाजुभाइहरू छट्पटिदा नाफा खाएरै भए पनि औषधि दिने भारतीय व्यापारीहरू नै मेरा लागि जरूरी छन्, प्रिय छन् र थिए। नेपाली भाषा बोल्दैमा र नेपालमा जन्मदैमा राष्ट्रवादी भइदैन भन्ने कुरा बुझ्न जरूरी छ। जनता मरिरहँदा र देश जलिरहँदा भागेर हिड्ने भगुवाहरूले शान्तितर्फ अग्रसर भइरहेको देशलाई किन भाँड्न खोजिरहेका छन्? विदेशमा बसेर नेपालीहरूले गरेको निर्णयमाथि किन औंला उठाउँदैछन्? हामीहरू बाँच्न चाहिरहेका छौं, हामीलाई मार्ने कोशिस नगरियोस्। हामीलाई इराक वा अफगानिस्तान बनाउने कोशिस नगरियोस्। हामीले रोप्न खोजेको शान्तिको विउलाई मास्ने प्रयास नगरियोस्। होइन भने त माओवादी मात्र होइन नेपाली सेना र प्रहरी पनि तिम्रा विरूद्धमा उत्रनै पर्छ। आजसम्म एकअर्काका विरूद्धमा प्रयोग भएका हतियारलाई एकैठाउँ राखेर तिम्रा विरूद्धमा जाइ लाग्नै पर्छ। हामीलाई कुनै सेना मार्नु छैन, हामीलाई कुनै प्रहरी मार्नु छैन न त हामीलाई कुनै माओवादी नै मार्नु छ। हामीलाई आफ्नै जनता मारेर आउने प्रजातन्त्र चाहिएको नै होइन। हामीलाई आफ्नै जनतालाई पिडा दिएर, जनताको रगतमाथि होली खेलेर वा जनताको अधिकार खोसेर सुरक्षित हुने राष्ट्रियता पनि चाहिएको होइन।
नेपालीहरूको भाग्य निर्धारण नेपालमा बस्ने नेपालीहरूले नै गर्नेछन् जसरी विगतमा गरेका थिए। सबै कुराहरू जनता केन्द्रित हुनुपर्छ। बहुसंख्यक जनताले बाँच्न पाउनु पर्छ। जनताको रगतमाथि होली खेलिनु हुँदैन र जनताहरू मारिनु हुँदैन। बहुसंख्यक जनताले चाहेको हुनु पर्छ वा उनीहरूले खोजेको कुरा पाउनु पर्छ र उनीहरूको सुखका लागि राज्य वा राजनीतिक पार्टी लाग्नुपर्छ। को सत्तामा आउने वा नआउने भन्ने कुरा नेपाली जनताले निर्धारण गर्ने कुरा हो। कसैलाई यदि माओवादीहरू आतंकवादी नै हुन् भन्ने लाग्छ र उनीहरू सत्तामा जानु हुँदैन भन्ने लाग्छ भने नेपाल आएर आवाज उठाए हुन्छ। संविधान सभाको चुनावमा भाग लिएर उनीहरूलाई हराए हुन्छ, होइन भने नेपाली जनताले उनीहरूलाई विश्वास गर्छन् र उनीहरूलाई जिताउँछन् भने यसका विरूद्धमा बुस वा ब्लेयरलाई पुकार्नुको कुनै अर्थ छैन। राष्ट्रियता वा प्रजातन्त्रका कुरा गर्नेहरूले नेपालमै बसेर माओवादी वा अन्य कुनै शक्तिका विरूद्धमा पनि मोर्चा सम्हाले हुन्छ, होइन भने विदेशी मुलुकका नागरिक वा विदेशी सरकारलाई नेपाली जनताको चाहनाका विरूद्धमा उकास्नुको कुनै अर्थ छैन।
नेपलिको भग्य निर्धरन नेपलिले नै गर्न पा उ नु पर्ने हो तर यहा खेल भैरहेको छ.
I do not understand what Aryal is trying to achieve – bring division among Nepalese population or simply exercising his “freedom of speech” rights.
He has blanketed all Nepalese outside Nepal under one category, and I am shocked to see so many comments in support of his outrageous view. Let’s assume he is right, what is he going to do? Is he going to send Nepal Army, Police and Mao to US and UK, screen out all Nepalese from the crowd and shoot?
There are people (possibly, old regime diplomats, politicians, and King supports) who may like to see the direct involvement of Bush and Blair and they may have sought help from them. Yes, he has right to oppose (he may like the word, attack!) them, but he cannot go on attacking every one indiscriminately.
His view (if accepted as it is) is recipe for dividing the country, not uniting, and destroying, not making as he has claimed.

Everyone has right to express their feelings in words or speech. But everyone feelings doesnot count.Like Bush guharne Nepali and tesma tauko dukhaune Deepak are the in the same boat.It doesnot hamper to the establishment of New Nepal. Be cool guys. Don’t go in personal level.Nepal is of all nepalese people whether they are any corner of the world.If we all unite whether we are and wish for New Nepal, then the dream will be fulfilled.

I have to agree that the article is touchy!
But what I strictly dont like about it is that you successfully created a gap between the youths in Nepal and Abroad. Since there are plenty who are capitalizing by the communal divide in Nepal, you created one more….and no doubt you became popular with so many comments. The issues discussed here certainly creates some disturbance in the future and you well laid a good platform.

I heard a lot about this site and the articles posted and I recently started viewing the blogs.I read the Article by Deepak Aryal and posted a comment in the afternoon. I guess we all have freedom to express critics. I just wrote what I have felt upon reading this article but when I surfed again later, I donot find my feedback. I wonder if there is any policy to keep only those feedback that support the Author and have no place for the critics. If blog like this is baised towards the Author’s viewpoint only, then we have nothing to say.

Absolutely not. There are too more patriotic people compared to people living in Nepal. You miss your country more while you are abroad. People residing in Nepal are vulnerable in their loyalty as they are always struggling for economic purposes.
Whom for Loktantra?
Loktantra is for all other than for Mandalays
Why?
Because kukur le ghas khadaina. He is carnivorous and always seeks to suck blood of people. They cannot digest loktantra because they are grown up in the slavery of aristocracy.
Why citizenship for all?
I guess the government is not distributing citizenship without any valid grounds. There is millions of Nepalese languishing from citizenship not because they are non-Nepalese simply because of political grudge. They are Nepalese and must be granted citizenship honestly and fast.
They have been exploited for generations. Now they must be granted citizenship without further delay.
I do agree with the fact of open border. We must consider this fact. But getting citizenship is not so easy in any country, there may be couple of pilferage which are common everywhere even in US where the system is so strong.

U r absolutely correct, and for the people those who r residing outside country should understand that if u r loyal n honest to the country n current changes one shouldn’t be disappointed, it’s targeted for the “Mandales”. All of us saw Saddam Hussein being hanged in Iraq, now we r awaiting that to be happen in Nepal b’coze the murder is still enjoying his life from public money. Let’s pray for that……

This article is not a good article. Eventhough… the title… says “BUSH LAI PUKARNE LAI JAWAF” its hurting all the nepalese who is abroad.
And eventhough the writer says at the top (in bracket) its not writers aim to hurt all the person abroad but his every sentence goes against all neplese abroad. Being abroad doesnt mean ..they dont love their country. Being abroad doesnt mean they are enjoying forgeting their country. Being abroad doesn’t mean they dont want peace in their country. I agree there are some people abroad who dont like change in Nepal. It doesnt mean… all the people dont like the change. I want to say to writer… that if he really focussing only for those who is against the change..and who wrote the letter to Bush then he has to write another article to make his face clear that he is not jelous with nepalese brothers and sisters who is aborad.
I am sure it really hurts.. who love their country. Everybody loves their country no matter where they are.

Before making any scathing remarks at the Nepalis based abroad, it is necessary to understand that those who are abroad go abroad because of their own reasons, most of those are obviously selfish. Human nature is motivated by this urge to have a better life, to achieve wealth, security and the desire to live as a free individual. Simply calling a Nepali who had the opportunity to work or study abroad does not automatically earn one the label of bhagauda. We all have our reasons for going abroad, and the chances of hating the country being the reason is minimal, if not obsolete (I know you already hate me, but hear me out).
Those people abroad often talk of politics at home, remember, Nepal is always home. It might be a far off place three airplanes rides away but it is still home. People are not afraid to talk openly about these issues because those living abroad do not fear retribution from anyone. It is a more open environment for those in the West to openly be involved in political dialogue. The fear of having someone who opposes a certain idea acting out against someone is not expected because the system of law protects the rights of an individual to speak and express what one wants. Therefore more people are likely to be involved in activism abroad than they would be in Nepal.
As for the children of expatriates who are born and brought up in the West, Nepal has very little claim on them. They are children born and brought up in a different country than their parents’. It is up to these children and their parents to decide what needs to be retained from the old land and what of the new land needs to be incorporated in their lives. I think it is uufair to point our fingers at these children. We as a people haven’t migrated a lot in the past. It’s only now that children of first generation Nepalis are grown-ups in the US. Look at any other ethnic minority in the West, being unable to adapt to the new culture and maintaining a retrogressive style of thinking can have horrible consequences.
After going thru few lines, I thought Author has high grieveance to all Nepalese staying abroad.Where ever we are, we too equally love our mother Land. and the way he has expressed is not proper, its a kind of hatred feelings we can see in his Article and that I guess indicates How much biased is he? C’mon dude, you have to learn respect others, I just hate the way you have expressed yourself

I read yr last artical, certainly y are not against to all nepalese living abroad, but yr presentation is some what mixedup so that it makes angry . I understand ,perhaps, y are saying to those real royalists who wrote a letter to mr. Bush. If yr intention is so, I am ok,thanks for it. BUT when y take the pen and Umeshjee offer y this place, be careful and prepare the matter.
Concerning the masse nepalese living abroad, they are here not for enjoing, and they can not forget their motherland and culture.Perhaps, everybody has not the same sentiments, but mostly, when we are fare of motherland we have more affection to her. Because most of us are frist generation, mostly burn and grewn up in Nepal.
Living abroad , we can do many things to the country in some context more than to those who are inside .SO pl, do not minimise and do not make negative propogand, we are hurted,

I am just wondering if we have really attained true democracy. If yes ten where is freedom of speech and action. Why can”t one political party whose ideology when differes from the main stream are not allowed to express their views? Similarly does it matter when someone feels differently and acts differently is a real crook. The people might have analyzed differently so they saw sme unseen black days ahead so might have asked help to counteract it.
Ok at moment you are right but if (I wish it just remains hypothetical)there is the situation when whole nation goes to dark phase due to the deeds of current political parties then what are you going to say to these people.
Everyone are not optimistic so the pessimist people act differently but i don”t think they should be treated badly. Acceptance of people with all types of ideology will make everyone feel safe and then only they can act for good.
Too much critism will not be helpful. Even the dying snake or tiger will try it’s last bite or pounce if you keep them striking. Let them die peacefully and then you won”t have to fear of any wrong deeds.

This article touches the heart of people living in abroad and come to decide them its provocative article. I do not agree with readers, what Deepak ji summarised is the bitter truth. Its individual right to judge we can’t force someone to think in different ways rather than the way they like. Leave them for their choice since we are democractic and we follow norms of democracy meaning respecting others views and try to understand them. Like Rajani said, its frustration of Deepak ji, I don’t agree with Rajani. Because life in abroad is not as easy as in Nepal. People works here almost more than 12 hrs for their living maintainece and for their love ones back in Nepal. How come you get better opportunities if you head abroad. Its kind of illusion. Once you land in abroad in particular developed countries you want to go back since the life here u discovered very tough. But you can’t go back thinking what my colleges and neighbours will say if I go back now or so. So working hard with good motivation in own country would be the best serve for the nation and for the coming ones. However, this has not been the case so far. People go Arab countries where they hardly get 10,000 NRS per month. Actually I don’t understand this kind of trend that we got in our society. You have limited life family, friends being away from them certainly give sharp pain in their hearts however they did a mistake which they could have realised before they head abroad once you landed you can’t simply go back.

But it is very important that American people are now realizing why French specially “Jack Chirag” objected the premitive doctrine of George Bush Jr.
George Bush’s way of action was for the regional democracy but it is hard to evalute it in the measures of Libral Democracy.
World is the global village in the present time and each country is adjecent to any contry in the world.
Learning politically is very easy now.

We are not surprised by their act and course as we all Nepali(resing in New York)knows them very well. However, It is absolutely unacceptable and regretable as well. Your writing is good. However not all nepali who are outside Nepal have bad in tention about nepal and nepali people. There are genuine people who are away from home and still love nepal as motherland and stillhelping their family and friends from outside. yes they were not able to fetch the vegetable when nepali people were in people movement. I think to some extent the writer is correct. I didnt hear a single voice against those who presented the letter to Bush saying Nepal is no more capable of solving its own problems, and now they want US to interfere and get hold of the situation.
I dont think there was even a single post about it in Sajha either. We should have spoken against those persons, before people in Nepal question on all our intentions. Even after the Kings move, there were lots of rallies going on in US in favour of the king.
So I think that, such a reaction was bound to come sooner or later.
Once Neplai come to US, they just start hating communists without analyzing anything. To me, I dont have any problem with Communists as long as they dont kill people and do good for the country and people. Just because you have a greencard in US doesnt mean that you can ask US to interfere your country. That was a real shame to all those professors and doctors and all those ill-educated bloody egoists.
Kudos to Deepak for that. I hate Umesh’s attitude lately towards the King ( earlier it was within limit, but recently he seems to be seeking cheap popularity just by going against King), but I really loved this one.

And current Nepal’s economy has been saved by remittance by these people. How could you be so hard for Nepali who are away works. Nepali who are living abroad have been contributing more than you guys living in Nepal in terms of charity and supporting economy indirectly.It is individual’s rights to express his opinion peaceful way.It could be wrong in your perspective. If we force others stop express views than what are the difference between Kings regressive rule inthe past and current democratic governance.
Although it is out of context just for your info with out international support Janandolan would not have succeeded. Had US, UK and India supported the King you would not have seen Maoist in the parliment. Yes, there is an influence of these power in Nepal. It is a bitter truth.
