    The Royal Palace and its inhabitants have been relegated to the books of history. And now, we are bombarded from time to time by new rumours, revelations and claims revolving around them!

    Yesterday, in another thread, I read about Princess Shruti accidentally killing a soldier while learning to drive within the Palace premises. This said tragic incident was brought up to challenge King Birendra when he wanted to bring Paras to book for the hit-and-run case, which is denied by Paras in his previous interview.

    I used to think that Nepal being sandwiched between two big and economically powerful nations, it is understandable that they have “high” stakes in Nepal. Accordingly, their vested interests are diplomatically orchestrated. Not to mention the far away land of opportunities as well as the land of the Union Jack jumping into the same bandwagon! Then the vortex of power,the Royal Palace and its residents, under the cloak of secrecy would make the critical decisions. Only those powerful bodies, I thought. Oh, how naïve I am!

    The revelation about another gravitating body in the politics of Nepal that too in Singapore in the form of Ms. Angella Cheng has left me dumbfounded. My, my!

    As for Ms. Cheng’s “grand design” to reinstate baby king in Nepal, I would request Nepal Government to lodge a formal protest to the government of Singapore through relevant channels. One understands the freedom of speech but this has grossly exceeded the boundaries of diplomacy. Such blatant expression clearly speaks against the spirits of Jana Andolan and is an outright example of meddling in the internal affairs of any state or nation.

    Is this an April Fool item?

46. Well….. not long ago, we had rumers of one lady called Julia Chang playing great role in Nepal and now there is Angela Chang….
    Who can be sure what kind of games are played within closed doors of politics….
    How many people in Nepal really believed (in 2002-2003) that Nepal would be a republic by 2008? So anything is possible when we do nothing other than talk negative of the leaders behind their back … but at the same time we would love to receive with sweet hands when they are infront….. its only when we do not benefit, then we start talking of biasedness…..
