1. The Article itself is useless. It seems like the writer has no clue on what he is writing.It is clear that even those whose identity has been used as reference had not been notified pre-press.There are many error ,confusion and misleading sentences.I am sure the writer realizes next time that it is very important to do research before writing something on this hot topic. You may be sued over this for providing rubbish information.I feel sorry for those whose name has been taken as references.

   As a Student myself I feel ashamed on the words used as comments. It proves a famous Nepali saying ‘Bara Barsh Kukur ko Puchhar Dhungro ma hale pani Bango ko Bangai’

   Come on people. Be realistic and do not mislead and insult other based on false claims.I sure every one in Australia know it well that Australia is one of the best destination for students. If you are pathetic and hopeless , it does not mean that no one can do anything. I am studying at UTS and I can afford my study cost myself.So far I do not have to rely on anyone’s support. I am happy with my lifestyle and proud of myself. May be I do not expect Australian Government to treat me as ‘Jwain’ and get everything for granted.You have to work hard for it. At least we get enough reward for hard work here and you are respected for what you are and what you do. PR paye panoi thikai chha ……But I will have no complaint even if I do not get it. At least I will earn a good education and I worked had for it. I will definetly take my good and bitter experience as everyone has in there life span. I can share this to my family.

   SO please do not be negative and do not kill someones dream to be educated in Australia.If are not happy with your life , then why don’t you simply go back to where you can be happy. But do not complain and discourage others..

   Lastly, Please do not put all Migration agents and Consultant in the same category. I am happy with my Consultant. After all it is free service which we are privileged because of them. Just be wise and filter information. Most of them do not charge money from us. If they get commission from Uni for giving us free advise , then why should we have to have a headache. They are not taking money from us. We would have to pay the full tuition fee anyway… Consultancy dai haru please continue giving good advises. But please be aware of not misguiding students for quick Money…I have no problem for you being paid from Uni for hard work.

3. अस्ट्रेलियाको कानुन अनुसार माइग्रेसन एजेन्टले मात्र पिआरको पक्रिया चाल्न पाउछन, that is complete and utter bullshit, plz go to immi.gov.au and apply yourself, it is pretty easy if yours is a straightforward case.PLz do not waste money by giving it to the agents who i have found are mostly dumb and don’t know much.Chinese and indian agents are better.

4. Please don’t get punished yourself,
   I have been staying in Australia for almost four years now I am in a big trap that neither I come back to my country nor I can live here in higher living standard than Nepal. This country is very smart and making policy to boost their economy by calling international student who worked very hard and pay big money to collage and house rent. To be honest, I would have to say that, the education of Australia is poorer that Nepali education because most of the collage and university are like the institute of PUTALISADAK and BAGBAJAR which are commercially established. 99% student from South Asia are working 3D work especially cleaning and pay huge amount to their tuition fee and house rent. At last neither they have a good qualification nor money so they can not back to their country without money so they fall into big trap like me. To save money here, either you work hard without collage or you have a good qualification and get a good job.

8. I agree fully with the English comments, I cannot read the Nepali. I have many Nepali friends in Australia and I know how the system works here – I am born here. It is possible to get PR but very difficult. You have to be very clever and have the right idea which is different from the majority. The rules are very strict. Your best chance for PR in Australia or any western country is to get educated in a top class university in Nepal or India and then apply for PR from Nepal after having a few years of good experience and good English skills. You have competition from other countries like England where it is also hard to find jobs for the local people these days. But! You need to choose the right career, that means a career that is needed in that country. For example, right now, you have a great chance to get PR in Australia if you are a head chef in a good restaurant – that means you are the head chef in charge of 10 other cooks and serving to 500 people per day – like 5 star hotel head chef. I think this chance will be there for another 2 years at least but after that it might change. The reason is Australia has a big mining boom now – that means they need people to work in far away places to serve the people in the mining industry. (I mean these far away places need chef). This can change any day – it all depends on the growth of China who buy most of the minerals from Australia. So if China stops buying minerals from Australia then these jobs will go also. So in that way you have to have some luck – choose the right job and be lucky that this job is needed when you have experience. But remember, even if you do not get PR at least you will have some great skills you can use in Nepal. You have to think in a long term way and think what will be your plan if you don’t get your first choice. So I said enough – don’t trust agents or education consultants. 12. I have been living in Australia for last 4 years. It makes me smile when I read news like this. Why do Nepalese can’t be wise and see information on immigration website whichever country they want to go ? And, about visa which was discussed above, not it’s not that easy like cutting cake with knife…nowadays students in nepal go to boarding school and have good english and score, don’t feel so much happy that you get visa and your career has changed, you haven’t seen anything. Any country you want to go, don’t follow agent, consultancy or University website, follow immigration website which tells you the truth. The news above is half truth, half exaggerated. It’s impossible to get PR if you just study and work at the same time. You need to be focused, you need to choose right course, no matter what your interest is , and that’s risky. Students can’t afford to study without breaching the Government’s law. They work mostly 40 hours or I have seen some students working 80 hours during study period in cash money. Once you start working in tax, you are unsafe, your tax information is held by Australian Taxation Office which help Immigration to find out the raid. Government doesn’t excuse those students who are here to make money instead of studying. In my opinion, the Tri-Chandra college or Shankhardev give same education in hassle free way. Here, you study, you work at the same time, you miss your family members, you need to know how to find job, how to pass exams, if you fail, your bad grades are informed to Immigration and you could have problem for further stay or even you could have your working right checked upon your bad study grades. And, at last and not at least, most of Nepali young guys just feel like the glittering lights and beautiful beach of Overseas gonna rock their life when they come here to study, they are floating on cloud, wake up. I am telling you permanent residence is not easy. To get it you need to focus, remember, you need to be focused. At end of graduation if you are talented and can perform the task that suites to your profession, I mean if you are Engineer if you know how to work and make boss happy, you might get a chance to get sponsorship by companies….for Permanent residence you need better qualification, long experience, and ability to show the companies that they can trust you. Don’t jump blindly, think is it easy to get job in Nepal ? You are going to speak another language, and think how hard it can be. Another thing is you do not get PR because you do cleaning in the stores or do restaurant kitchen hands job …you need to hold high position which is described under Migration category position…most of the time Australian people or European working visa holder get prioritised for good job. The hard jobs, and hassle ones go to Asians like Nepalese , Bangali, Indians, Chineese and you need to fight with world manpower here. So, just before you come, finish your study in your country…spend few more lakhs there, better than paying in 10 or 12 lakhs to foreign country blindly. Once you finish you get experience little bit, then have your eyes in different overseas employment options like migrating or coming in Residency Permit. If i were applicant in time being, I would apply for PR from Nepal rather than expecting to study in australia and then after 5 years applying for it. Every year migration rules change, we never know what happens after 5 years. So, better do your study in Nepal, spend few more lakhs in private if you don’t feel comfortable walking around in Government Universities…at the end of study, get some experience then think of going Overseas. I work with someone who got working visa only after he had working experience of 10 years in his country in same franchise company. Better prepare yourself. You might dislike the country’s polluting environment in Nepal but still you are safe, your parents are with you, and just living normal life. And, one more thing….in Australia or any english speaking country your english should be good enough, otherwise you will be stuck with job as a dishwasher or cleaner..for anyone who wants to know more information on student visa or migration rules, or working visa just visit official immigration website http://www.immi.gov.au. After you see website any topic you want to, just type in upper right side corner of website in “search” box, then it shows the official information. Be wise, you can walk 10 times better than fools. These rules apply to the students, workers or any migrants who want to apply for any developed country for those purpose.

    ३ मैले अष्ट्रेलियामा ‘कामको फालाफाल छ’ भनेर कहिले पनि बोलेको थिइनँ।

14. The news is exaggeration of some truths.certainly some changes have been made so far to overcome the financial crisis of the Australian collages and universities . To say the very truth the changed rules are for the sake of Australian economy rather than that of students.The aus gov is in master plan to bring the overseas students as a profitable goods .This is the only bitter truth.if someone wishes to get Pr then it’s possible even from Neplese qualifications which is less expensive and trouble less.so I request all concerned friends not to totally believe on consultancies but do their own research on the matter of Australian edu n financial matters so that at later stage non of have face and hear sad news like suicidal,depressions and mental problems.

I am very surprise that the writer painted that DR Samsher thapa is the best only law practitioner in Australia, where did you get that information. there are many other lawyer are very good I really agreed with RACHANA. He is the one who does not know anything about the Australian immigration law. so your reports completely wrong. There are many people who does the very illegal activity on the name of services. My friend who come through the OLI and associate now he regret, shame on this people who rubbed poor nepali student.

In Sydney there are many people who claimed an accountant, lawyer, migration agent(specialist), HOME LOAN specialist, all फताई गरेर पैसा कमाएका छन्. बिस्तारै सबै नेपाली ले बुझ्न थाले का छन्. तपाई लै इ महा महिम हरु को बारेमा जान्नु छ भने आउनुहोस मा दर्जनौ victim संग मिलाई दिन्छु.

    how to apply student Visa if u want to come here legally for study and build your career. There are thousands of Nepali people
    in Austrlia so must know anybody here , ask them how to apply Visa they will help you out.

    • कुरा ईक्दाम ठिक हो, थापाजी एकमात्र कानून व्यवसायी भन्नु सरासर झूट हो, जहिले पनि उहा लै मात्र किन एक मात्र नेपाली ओकिल भानिन्छा , Melbourne का सुरेन्द्र मान श्रेष्ठ शम्सेर थापा भन्दा धेरै पुराना हुन् जस्तो लाग्छा .मैले अरु हरु को पनि नाम देखेको छु खाली बाहिर प्रचार मात्र न गरेका हुन .

      मेरो विचार मा Australia मा भएका agent भन्दा नेपाल मा भएका agent राम्रा छन् . तिनी हरु ले देखेका छैनन् त्यसै ले अलि अलि झुट लै माफ पनि गर्न सकिंचा , तर येही भएका ले पनि ये बाबा के सरो झुटो बोल्न सकेको .
      अनि माथि कुनै साथी ले भनेको जस्तो प्रायो जसो ( ९५%)यी Agent हरु आन्त काम न पाएर agency खोलेका हुन्, साबि चै होइनां , कोहि कोहि चै एकदम पढेको अनि लाखौ डोलर को काम छोडेर खोलेको पनि देखेको छु. यिनी हरु को चै के बुद्धि बिग्रेको जस्तो लाग्छा कहिले कहिँ मलाई.

26. I respect shamser thapa who is renowned lawyer in sydney.. But in this article he is mentioned as a Dr and only one lawyer in sydney which is absolutly wrong and he is not as professional as other lawyers do in sydney. Because of media and some succesful cases he became famous and expensive lawyer . And nowdays he charges around $100 to 200 for simple consultation which is absolutly worthless .. I went to his office at
    Suite 6, Level 1, 70 Macquaire st
    Paramatta,sydney couple of months before and tried to consult with him but i found he was busy with his mobile phone and didnt look professional to me, he was just answering to my questions only and didnt provide any further suggestion to me . I realised that my hard earned money was gone for nothing. I dont want to personally blame but his attitude and his professionalism is not acceptable according to Australian standard .So i request media not to publicize someone’s success only they should be able to criticise their crappy things as well.

    It’s true first UK victimised poor, innocent and ambitious Nepalese students and now it’s the turn for Australia.
    This is nothing than a conspiracy to boost their economy, invite cheap labour force, brainwash and send them backhome empty handed ;Often with difficult situations in life when a man thinks its easier to die than survive.
    BE AWARE GUYS! US, UK, AUSTRALIA ARE NOT PAINTED WITH GOLD. THINK TO LIVE BOSS IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY THAN TO DIE CHEAP LABOUR IN FOREIGN.

30. Most of the agents here in Sydney knows how to extract money from their own people. i.e Nepali. If you are qualified by education – you do not have to go to these agents for PR – you can lunch your PR by yourself. I got my PR in 4 consecutive weeks on my hand! So why do we need these consultants? There are there to scum the preceious money from the students – yes, life is not easy here in Sydney and those consultants also worked as Taxi driver, kitchen hands and cleaners. So, easiest way to make money for them is to open consultancy – and scum money from own people. Ask any genuine Nepali who got the PR from their own status – they will tell the same truth. So the parents – education here in Sydney is not cheap at all. There is no schlorship say 99% no. Working condition is very harsh – mostly you son/daughter will land in restaurant(65-70%), cleaning (15-20%) or in shop assistant (if lucky) (10 -15%). And study at the uni cost for turion per anum is A$12000 to A$14000 beside your other expenses. Beware of these consultants!

    • Hey I am from Charles Sturt University, and in our Uni there is scholarship for us (Basically for the Nepalese student). So, I disagree that though. Else fine. Cheers.

33. New assessment level (for Nepal) is only for Post graduate research. So normal low level students will not be benefitted from the change. Don’t trust those educational consultancies otherwise you will face a big problem – financially?

I think Australia is best country in terms of pay and lifestyle and ofcourse they have good education system(only in uni and some pvt college)but before coming to Australia u need to focus on study instead of earning money.Lots of challenges, so this country is only good for those people who are patience, well prepared and hard working .Dont trust education consultancies 99% are focused on money only so its better to consult with your relatives and friends who has been living here since long time ago just like me 🙂

40. पहिले बेलायतले नेपालीलाई मुर्ख बनायो (के मुर्ख बनायो भन्नु, नेपाली आफै मुर्ख भए नि!)| विद्यार्थी भिसा मा आएकाहरुको कस्तो बिल्ली बाठ भयो, कति पार्कमा सुते, कति बसमै, २-४ जनाले आत्महत्या गरे (भर्खर १-२ हप्ता अघि पनि एकजना झुन्डे), केटिहरु “मर्ता क्या न कर्ता” भने जस्तै पैसा कमाउन के के गरे, कति फर्के| भाग्यले साथ पाएकाहरु कलेज कम कफी, बर्गर, रेस्टुरेन्टमा धेर हाजिरी गर्न जान्छन|

    अब पालो अस्ट्रेलियाको!

    विदेश जाने भन्दैमा नेपाली दाजु-भाई, दिदि-बहिनिहरुले तलको किड्नीलाइ टाउकोमा राखेर काम नगर्नु होला, दिमाग, बुद्धि लगाएर मात्र प्रोसेस गर्नुस है| अनि अभिभावकहरुले कृपया विचार गरेर , पछुताउनु नपरोस| गुड-लक् भन्नु बाहेक केहि छैन|

    पुनश्च: म बिधार्थी र माथि भने जस्तो भुक्त-भोगी त हैन तर, हिथ्रो गएर ५-७ जनालाई घरमा राखेर कोठा, होस्टेल खोजेर १-२ लाइ काम पनि खोजेर चाई राखियो| के गर्नु नेपाल बाट उड्ने केहि दिन अगाडी अनि कोइ त काठमाडौँ मा भ्यायिना हिथ्रो बाटै फोन गरेर मद्धत मागे अहिले त उनीहरुनै जान्ने बाठो छन्| गरेको गुण त कुनै दिन लाग्लानि भन्ने आश छ!
